Kentucky is over and so many memories were made during this trip! We didn’t have the record like we wanted to down there but they were all really well fought games that helped us gain confidence as a team! I had 7 plate appearances and 3 walks, wasn’t the outcome I wanted but I saw my hitting coach today and this week we are working on staying in my legs more when swinging! I made so many memories with the team whether it was making breakfast or going to Buc-ees for a road trip pit stop! This past week we had our first season opener games for Louisville! Some things may not go our way for games/at bats but we work on it one step at a time. First Scrimmage since surgery! I finally was able to hit a little bit, along with that it was High Schools first scrimmage! I ended up going 2-3 with 2 singles. Yesterday was 4 months post op and I’ve definitely learned a lot since. I’ve learned more about myself as an athlete and a person. You will struggle most days, but what matters most is how you come out of that darkness. Don’t take the small wins for granted, use them as motivation to keep pushing. This hasn’t been easy but finally being able to start some sprint exercises was definitely a blessing that was well needed. Thank you God for allowing this to come upon my life and let me learn how to face these challenges. Took a couple weeks off for rest mentally and physically, but we are so back!! I’ve had a little bumps in the road with my recovery but we are working to get those smoothed out. Unfortunately I recently tore my ACL and partially tore my meniscus while playing flag football in the final four game. The grind doesn’t stop, it’ll just look a little different. Finally starting to get a little sweat going. Sunday I helped my High School coaches with the winter league! I felt good to be involved somehow. The Monday night I went to weekly catching lessons and helped the little ones out! Finally yesterday I saw Caleb at Big Cat Therapy. He is helping me with so much. 6 weeks post op! I finally was able to start overloading the Quad and work on balancing. What a busy week!! Last weekend was the final tournament for my Ohio Storm team! I wish I could have played this fall season but everything happens for a reason and I will be back out on the field next summer back and better than ever! Thank you for my coaches for letting me get to call pitches and learn another side of the game! I learned a lot of what it takes to be somewhat of a coach. Along with this week, Louisville varsity team had our youth clinic Tuesday and Thursday and a trick or treat at the high school for the little ones on Wednesday!
