Well I have to say as a @ManUtd lifelong fan but also a @CPFC season ticket holder living in the south who counts them as my second team I thought the decision to send off Max Lacroix and award a penalty in the game today was wrong. The offence started outside the penalty area so the decision should have been a free kick and a yellow card. I find it hard to believe that experienced referees with all the technology available to them and the ‘help’ of another referee viewing various angles keep making so many poor decisions. The problem is that even if the red card is overturned on appeal the result will still stand and this was the turning point in the game. I’m not saying whether I’m happy with a Utd win and them going third or sad that Palace came away with nothing. I was always going to be a little conflicted in this game. But it is a shame when a refereeing mistake dictates the outcome. It happens too often, unfortunately.

City's punishment should be exactly as @elliemolloson said: point deductions every season & for the length of time they broke the rules to avoid promotions back up. Financial penalties should be equally crippling, so it impacts their ability to spend season & season so that they can't buy their way back up either. Simple. You have to consider punishments for other clubs. Leicester 6 points, 1 breach. Forest 4 points, 1 breach. Everton, 6 points, 1 breach / 2 points, 1 breach. Not only that, but the types of breaches & charges City are facing, some of which are far more serious than what other clubs have been punished for. 68 of those charges span a decade & represent serious financial fraud, far worse than other clubs. Stack it with the other charges? A monumental punishment. Biggest ever for the biggest cheats in English history.

This is nonsense: 1. If City is kicked out, ie given a point deduction that result in relegation, the Championship must accept them. 2. City in the Championship in for example 26/27 would be box office for the EFL and all clubs in the Championship. 3. City has extremely strong financials and would have no problem bouncing right up again to the PL. 4. Remember, if City wins the CL or the FA Cup, they still play in Europe regardless if they are demoted (yes, it would pose some interesting questions for those setting the schedule in the Championship if they had a team in Europe). My bet is that City is top 4 in the PL within 24 months of being kicked out.
