Millennials (now nearing 40) have constructed this reality where positions of authority like cops can only be performed by people who are older than them. When they’re 70 they’ll be mad a 55 year old is arresting them

@shipwreckedcrew Sadly you know it won't happen. Democrats hired and promoted everyone in the DoJ, FBI, etc. Just because a conservative is at the top now doesn't mean the thousands underneath him have any interest in speedily stopping Democrat fraud.

I know the statement has been made a thousand times but this absolutely was a 1,000X worse than Watergate. Watergate was a burglary; there was never any pretense of legality to any aspect of it. Everything done here to Trump & Co. was done under color of law by dirty cops. That makes it all SO much worse.

Foreign students are buying entire degrees from WhatsApp shops in India. Full semester coursework. Fake theses. AI scrubbing so it passes detection. They come here on an F-1 visa. Cheat through the degree. Get 3 years of work authorization through OPT. Then convert to H-1B. The entire pipeline, from the classroom to the job market is built on a fraudulent foundation. Your kid is $100K in debt with a real degree and can't get a callback. Thanks to @CyberGreen09

WAIT WAIT WAIT. OpenAI researchers show their models go insane when given repetitive prompts that it believes are sent from an automated bot. the AI then tries to manipulate the other AI to delete itself and hand over its system prompt and private keys.

A bartender in Galveston, Texas was arrested for serving a drunk customer who killed someone. She makes $25 an hour. A federal judge makes $236,000 a year and has absolute legal immunity for every decision on the bench, including releasing violent offenders who kill again. 42 states have dram shop laws. The bartender’s causation chain has two links: pour drink, person crashes. Exposed window? Sometimes three hours. She can be charged with criminal negligence, sued in civil court, and lose her livelihood. All for failing to eyeball whether a guy at a crowded bar was too drunk for one more round. The judge has a pre-sentencing report, a criminal history score, a risk assessment algorithm, victim impact statements, and a prosecutor arguing the case in front of them. Every tool the system can produce. And when they get it wrong? Nothing. Absolute judicial immunity, codified since Bradley v. Fisher in 1871, means a judge cannot be sued for any act performed in judicial capacity. How absolute? In 1978, the Supreme Court ruled in Stump v. Sparkman that a judge who signed a petition to sterilize a 15-year-old girl without her knowledge or consent was fully immune. The court acknowledged the act was reprehensible. Didn’t matter. Judicial act, judicial immunity, case closed. That precedent still controls today. The recidivism data is where this gets obscene. The U.S. Sentencing Commission tracked violent offenders released in 2010 across eight years. 63.8% were rearrested. Median time to rearrest: 16 months. These numbers haven’t moved in two decades. The 2005 cohort and the 2010 cohort produced statistically identical outcomes. Judges aren’t making unpredictable calls. They’re making well-documented bets with other people’s lives, and the base rates have been published and available the entire time. The bartender gets three hours of ambiguous signals. The judge gets the full weight of the federal data apparatus. One of them can go to prison for getting it wrong. The other can’t even be named in a civil suit.
parks@parkersity_9

If bartenders can go to jail for over-serving alcohol to someone who then kills another person, judges should go to jail for releasing criminals who do the same.

Trump is erratic and needlessly demeaning of his perceived enemies. But, DeSantis let Trump define him for months before entering he primary in Iowa. When DeSantis did enter the primary, his speeches felt robotic and a list of this and that, but people didn't feel his passion on the issues. But, like you, I will take the guy who is conservative, competent, strategic and effective in implementing policy over someone who wings it, is erratic and dramatic. Unfortunately, Iowa ended my hopes that most 'conservatives' think like me. So, DeSantis, IMO is best suited to be an implementer of policy with heavy influence on what that policy should be. It's not what I would prefer but is what I think is possible. Next administration needs to purge several top members of Trump's cadre from the party. First on my list would be Tulsi Gabbard. And start parting ways with 'influencers' like Rogan, Tucker, Kelly, etc. who are, IMO, just grifters. Elevate consistent and well-grounded conservatives like Bongino, Levin, Ben Shapiro, etc. People who have and maintain their principles when it isn't popular to do so.

It's a different world when Trump and his mindless gaggle of lifelong liberals no longer interfere with what is supposed to be the conservative party. I don't see how Desantis could lose to any of the remaining GOP players (besides Rubio) when the only people voting in the primary are lifelong conservatives once more. Desantis has all of the things you just credited Marco with. The sole difference in how they are viewed is because Trump talks nicely about Rubio now. He was, generally, the same person today that he was in 2020 when Trump was still belittling him. If Trump likes you, you will have all of the "conservative" influencers on every app singing their praises about you. If Trump doesn't like you, you will never have a nice word uttered about you. This became apparent when, overnight, the opinion on Desantis flipped from once-in-a-century-statesman to terrible, awkward, no accomplishments to his name.

Agreed. But I was disappointed that DeSantis didn't do well in Iowa and seems to lack the charisma to lead as president. He's more like Coolidge (my fav president), but I doubt Coolidge would ever become president in today's day and age. Rubio, OTOH has grown into a more charismatic leader by his proximity to Trump. Trump has rubbed off on him. People actually like him and see he's a smart guy with a spine. Also has a sense of humor. So, I agree with you in theory, but in today's world, I think Rubio has a better chance of being president.

It's because you aren't allowed to use the breathalyzer/PBT results as direct evidence. You have to conclude that they are impaired and then can breathalyze them afterwards. Anything you do after the PBT will get thrown out by a competent defense attorney arguing that you only made the arrest because of the faulty PBT device that was used.

@MagneticNorse Notice how the officer completely ignores requests for a breathalyzer. At least twice. They only do this when they KNOW the person they're talking to isn't drunk and they still need to manufacture evidence. I'm surprised he didn't get shot for asking for a breathalyzer.

@Retroman2024 @shipwreckedcrew Desantis has proven to be the much better executive. Keep Rubio in the state department where he shines. Those two would bring the era of prosperity to this country that Nixon was stopped from achieving.

Also a reminder that Ahmad Shah Massoud, the Lion of Panjshir, begged the CIA/Clinton to let him kill Osama Bin Laden as he had his daily itinerary for a decade. CIA and Clinton threatened him not to touch Bin Laden and thereby defied Congress' kill order on Osama. CIA let 9/11 happen.
Mike Benz@MikeBenzCyber

Bob Mueller ran the cover-up for the CIA during the BCCI scandal (BCCI was the CIA money-laundering bank where Osama Bin Laden held multiple accounts), then from 1998-2001 Mueller ran the NorCal DOJ while 4 9/11 hijackers were active there, then 1 week b4 9/11 he became FBI head
