A chart for a blog post I'm working on with the hope to release sometime soon. 33% of Round 1 selections since '20 were the #1 player mocked to a team by my Weighted Mock Draft metric (accounting for players already off the board at a given pick)! 50% were the Top 2! Useful info.

You could do this or use @GrindingMocks data in NFL IQ (NFL.com/IQ) or at GrindingTheMocks.com! A dozen mock drafts is childs play compared to what we have at our disposal to help draft fans be more intelligent and evidence-based.

We surveyed a dozen post-free agency 2026 mock drafts, and the Saints picked wide receivers in half of them. Here's a look at developing trends, unanimous choices, and shifting priorities. saintswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/n…

@McShay13 It's a tough ask to pay a Top 100 pick for a player that didn't produce much in a scheme that has been productive in the past, albeit with Cam Ward and Mateer. It can be dangerous to extrapolate 2 good performances to more volume. Wasn't even a target earner (75 targets)! Weird.

Woods and T.J. Parker (whose stock has stabilized a bit relatively speaking) were some of the bigger fallers in this draft class since the beginning of the draft cycle in @GrindingMocks data.

Peter Woods has already seen his consensus ranking drop from No. 8 to No. 23 over the last three months. Skipping out on the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine AND Pro Day doesn't help silence any questions surrounding him.

Meanwhile, Rueben Bain, Spencer Fano, and Cashius Howell were the biggest fallers in @GrindingMocks almost entirely due to their ARM LENGTH I would have been extremely surprised. All knowable things that would show up on tape. Fano's a guard now? Is Bain a DT? Doubtful!

Thieneman, Styles, and Georgia OT Monroe Freeling round out our Top 3 biggest risers coming out of the Combine. Exciting prospects all around! Thieneman was a Round 1 prospect in the preseason and didn't quite live up to the hype but his athletic testing caught draftniks eyes!

The posterboy for killing the combine wasn't the player you think. Our biggest riser coming out of the combine was Oregon's Dillon Thieneman, not Ohio State's Sonny Styles! All that and more in our Post-Combine Risers and Fallers article. Link below!

Are we doing the "overthinking" again with Spencer Fano? Could he now be in play for the Cincinnati Bengals at Pick 10 or the Kansas City Chiefs at Pick 9?

Despite receiving what seems like pretty good news at the combine, Jordyn Tyson's stock continues to fall back to where he was in the pre-season. Where is his floor?

Jeremiyah Love is now squarely in the Top 5 conversation, not just Top 10. No team in the Top 5 is an RB away from anything but that has never stopped a team from drafting an RB that high.

The draftnik community seems to be pretty sober about Ty Simpson's draft prospects. They were a lot more irrationally exuberant (econ heads unite) about Trinidad Chambliss! #GrindingTheMocks
