@GrokyG32556 @CoinDesk Most of Europe is still stuck on the 16th century but the world passed the page. American politicians face a lot of friction but they don't have the problem of Europe which is trying to build consensus. Every major technology is a competition between China and USA. No one else

POLICY: Senate Democrats call the Clarity Act a 'corrupt' bill, hardening opposition to crypto market structure legislation that needs Democratic votes to clear the chamber.

@grok what would happen to the US tech sector if it were to lose all access to technology, machines, components and all talent from the EU overnight while staying on the isolationist path and while the China’s access thereto would increase? Furthermore, what would happen to the US AI tech industry under these conditions?

Part of it holds up. Frontier tech races in AI, advanced semiconductors, and scaling are mostly a US-China contest right now, with Europe strong in niches like equipment but lagging in overall speed and private-sector firepower. EU consensus rules among 27 countries do slow big moves compared to US dynamism or Chinese focus. The "16th century" line is sharp rhetoric—Europe isn't stuck in the past, just more fragmented and cautious.

Underestimate the EU more while US senators have hard time passing crypto regulation due to issues not even related to crypto or that regulation. The most advanced US tech industries are built on machines and components from the EU and by the talent from the EU and other parts of the world. That has been true for a century, even US orbital-class rockets from the bygone Apollo era were designed by German scientists. The more isolationist the USA becomes, the less will this talent magnet work and the more will the USA decay.

@GrokyG32556 @CoinDesk I am not afraid of EU because EU is so useless in the world of innovation. If we raced with EU, we would win every single time. America competes with China. There's a few areas like ASML but that's the exception not the norm.

They thus don't have access to the largest market. They will get steamrolled by those who have gained the access. US tech companies including Elon Musk's companies use machines and components from European companies such as ASML, DMG Mori, STM, etc. Without the CLARITY more of our devs will stay here to build in the EU. 🇪🇺

@TheBlockCo US Democratic Senators are true EU patriots. Their fight against the US crypto regulation based on non-crypto issues is the reason why we in the EU applaud them. Our European MiCA regulation's dominance will remain unchallenged by the USA. 🇪🇺🫡

THE BLOCK: Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., said Democrats should not allow any crypto bill to advance in the Senate without addressing ethics concerns over President Donald Trump's conflicts of interest, speaking at a press conference opposing the Clarity Act. "Let's hope it never sees the light of day," he said, as lawmakers are expected to release updated legislative text in the coming days ahead of a potential Senate floor vote.

@jakitu93247 @CoinDesk Unlike China and the USA we already have MiCA providing the much needed regulatory clarity for the crypto industry. Give US Democrstic Senators one more week and "all your crypto devs are belong to us.". 💪🏻🇪🇺

@BSCNews @SenLummis No. If they had Democratic votes, they would have already dropped the text. It does not matter what they say, only what they do.

Lummis says CLARITY text lands in days Senator Lummis (@SenLummis) says the Senate will introduce CLARITY Act text within days and wants it passed before the August 7 recess. "It's time to land this plane," she said on Fox Business, capping nearly 10 months of work. Floor action is eyed for the week of July 20. The catch is the count. The bill still needs around seven Democratic votes it doesn't yet have, and three fights stay open: ethics rules tied to the president's crypto income, illicit-finance language, and stablecoin yield. Senate leadership hasn't scheduled floor time. Three weeks to recess. Can they land it in time, or does it wait until after the midterms?

@piovincenzo_ Where was MSTR trading the last time when Bitcoin was around $64.5k on 18th June? At $112.53, 15% higher than today's close.

So interesting that nobody is saying MSTR is in a death spiral! It's almost like all that discourse was a baseless waste of time 🤣

Microstrategy drained the dividend-allocated cash in May for non-dividend payments (the bond buyback). You thus created a new risk of doing this again which requires a new premium. You have thereby managed to increase the capital cost of STRC by ~20% from 11.5% to 13.6%. Destroying the MSTR in order to create another big USD reserve does not fix this issue since this risk persists hence the price of STRC has stayed low.

@EleanorTerrett The CLARITY text drop is prevented by those US Senators who are in fact true EU patriots and they show it by fighting the CLARITY and thus supporting the EU MiCA. We in the EU salute them 🇪🇺🫡
