There seems to be a misconception floating around about what Vertex is. Vertex is NOT public. It’s not a signal service. It doesn’t execute trades. It’s not an indicator. The cruelest thing about AI anxiety isn't the fear of being replaced. It's that people are scrambling to prove they're useful on the same terms the machine uses. Faster. Cheaper. More output per hour. Nobody's asking the harder question. What if the stuff that makes you irreplaceable is the stuff that doesn't scale?

Claude Code can now open your apps, click through your UI, and test what it built. All from the terminal. If you're still manually testing your own code in 2026, what are you even doing? This train is leaving. Get on it or watch it disappear.

btw we’re 6-12 months away from ai tools being able to: - autonomously use any piece of software in the world - effortlessly clone it in a weekend - constantly monitor it for updates - add whatever features you want on top of it all without you ever needing to use your computer

@svpino Using AI to write code you understand and maintain is just coding with better tools. Vibe coding is outsourcing judgment, not labor. Big difference.

Vibe-coding is not about "using AI to write code". The way I understand vibe-coding: • You don't care about the code • You don't review it, you don't test it • You don't care about security • You don't care about technical debt • You don't care about good engineering practices Your only focus is the final product. I think there's a time and a place for everything. Vibe-coding is very useful, but it can also be very damaging.

@karpathy It's the eager intern problem. You mentioned coffee once three months ago, and now every meeting starts with a latte update.

One common issue with personalization in all LLMs is how distracting memory seems to be for the models. A single question from 2 months ago about some topic can keep coming up as some kind of a deep interest of mine with undue mentions in perpetuity. Some kind of trying too hard.

@karpathy The real test is whether you can still hold the original position after hearing the counter. If not, you never had a position. You had a draft.

- Drafted a blog post - Used an LLM to meticulously improve the argument over 4 hours. - Wow, feeling great, it’s so convincing! - Fun idea let’s ask it to argue the opposite. - LLM demolishes the entire argument and convinces me that the opposite is in fact true. - lol The LLMs may elicit an opinion when asked but are extremely competent in arguing almost any direction. This is actually super useful as a tool for forming your own opinions, just make sure to ask different directions and be careful with the sycophancy.
