Today is the one year anniversary of my dad passing away from cancer. It is also my birthday. Anyone who's lost a parent knows it doesn’t really get easier. You become stronger, you learn to live, but it doesn't get easier.
In some ways, it's been a great year. Donate is pushing forward, I'm healthier than I've ever been, and I'm feeling optimistic about the industry I've given my life to.
In other ways, it’s been the worst: trying to mentally cope with the loss of my father while remaining present for my family and team has been harder than I anticipated.
I don’t know if everything happens for a reason. Maybe we just retrofit meaning in times of sadness in order to find solace in the helplessness of tragedy. Or maybe life really is random and things just happen because they happen.
For my birthday today, I am running a fundraiser on Donate for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. My relationship with St. Jude and the people there has been a blessing, and I will always do what I can to help them.
It's been the honor of my life to be part of this community, this platform, the friendships, the spaces, the conferences, just everything. Without you all, I would not have been able to make it through this year. Here’s the link to contribute donate.gg/campaigns/leap…

Nifty Gateway is about to shut down. The NFTs I bought back then—worth tens of millions of dollars—now feel like they’re going to zero.
I still believe NFT art has strong potential. Compared to traditional art, I’m convinced that AI will be able to truly perceive and appreciate the beauty of NFTs.
Right now, the most urgent task is to find a platform that can properly showcase the aesthetic value of all NFTs.

After a week filled with emotions, reality is starting to kick in. Some things can’t be changed unfortunately, but they truly hurt when they happen.

Career update!
After ~3 years on the BD team at @SolanaFndn, I’m excited to share that I’m starting a new chapter at @raincards 🌧️
Rain’s mission is as impactful as it gets — building a global payment network powered by stablecoins, one that advances how people and businesses move money around the world. Just wrapped up my first week and can confirm the hype is real … @rooqster and @cnaut have built an exceptional org.
My time at Foundy was deeply formative. I’m incredibly grateful for the leadership from @toly, @rajgokal, @calilyliu and for the opportunity to grow alongside so many close colleagues — @knimkar, @jnwng, @Pedromiranda to name just a few — as well as the countless inspiring teams across the @solana ecosystem (which will ALWAYS be home 🫶).
