@9mmsmg It wasn't just for TV. My great grandparents had matching twin beds. This was common among middle and upper class couples.

I saw some screenshot of someone commenting on a photo from a black and white TV show with the husband and wife sleeping in separate beds, saying you should go back to this and have minimal physical contact. It wasn't sarcastic. Two things: That was mainly just for TV. Married couples should have crazy amounts of unprotected, birth control free, fun sex. Non physical marriages function like a roommate situation or a business partnership. Why bother?
