@Group5StemCells @AlexandruBedre1 @DrDaveT Absolutely. It has been a service only available to those who can pay which seems unfair and against the ethos of the NHS. It also makes for a busy delivery room!
Thank you for all your answers - it's been so interesting! All the very best with the rest of your course. 😀

@HunterMagi @AlexandruBedre1 @DrDaveT I think it should be NHS-funded as it would allow them to have the choice for stem cell collecting, they wouldn't have to worry about the cost if they really wanted to. However, as your saying about another person, it would depend on the number of staff available.
English

@Group5StemCells @AlexandruBedre1 @DrDaveT As a clinical midwife I had several women asking if they could collect stem cells from the umbilical cord at delivery for this and future children. This was costly for collection and storage and required another person in the delivery room. Do you think this should be?

@b00414656 Hi, group 23. do you think there will be any legislation put in for the prevention of consuming raw fish
English

@HunterMagi @AlexandruBedre1 @DrDaveT I think I would as it would give me a bit more freedom in what to eat (soft diet only), It can very draining especially with other side effects such as headaches which can affect what you do throughout the day as medication doesn't really help me personally.
English

@Group5StemCells @AlexandruBedre1 @DrDaveT Thats very interesting. Slightly off topic (and please say if you would rather not answer) but would you consider a stem cell based treatment?
English

@HunterMagi @AlexandruBedre1 @DrDaveT I recently read an article on the use of stem cells to help with TMJD (Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction/Disorder) which I have myself. This would be beneficial to relax jaw muscles/tendons and would prevent a lot of the discomfort and locking of the jaw
English

@Group5StemCells @AlexandruBedre1 @DrDaveT (2/2) of information from Thermofisher and other public facing websites which are not generally considered robust sources. Can you tell me about any current studies on the benefits of Stem Cell use?
English

@ClaireN112425 @DrDaveT Hi group 6, do you think there will be a cure in the future?
English

@Group4UWS @DrDaveT Hi, group 4. Are there any plans in place to reduce the use/production of microplastics?
English

@HunterMagi @AlexandruBedre1 @DrDaveT I'm not entirely sure but there may be. In 2004 there was an article published based on information in 2001 in the USA about stem cell research becoming more public knowledge and the types of stem cells being used
English

@Group5StemCells @AlexandruBedre1 @DrDaveT Interesting. Do you think the public view stem cells different from fetal tissue? If so, what evidence do you have to support this?
English

@Group4UWS @DrDaveT yes there can be, the body can reject/attack the stem cells from the donner
English

@HunterMagi @AlexandruBedre1 @DrDaveT I feel this will have a positive effect on society's outlook toward's stem cells. As people who may be against the use of embryonic stem cells receiving treatment may feel more comfortable knowing that it's not affected potential life.
English

@Group5StemCells @AlexandruBedre1 @DrDaveT Absolutely! With that in mind - what are your feelings on this? And why?
English

@Group4UWS @DrDaveT it may lead to infection. After they have recovered from any infection, they may receive another transplant
English

@HunterMagi @AlexandruBedre1 @DrDaveT My understanding of this breakthrough is that the use of induced pluripotent stem cells will reduce and replace the use of embryonic stem cells since there is controversy about their use.
English

@AlexandruBedre1 @Group5StemCells @DrDaveT Absolutely - there seems to be a lot of mis-truths out there! You mentioned the "breakthrough" in 2006 - what was your understanding of this and it's application?
English

@HunterMagi @DrDaveT Stem cells are really interesting and have had an interest in them for a few years since learning some basic information in school.
English

@Group5StemCells @DrDaveT Thanks for your patience. What inspired you to choose this topic?
