🚨BREAKING
#Tottenham have shown interest in #BVB’s striker Serhou #Guirassy.
If #THFC stay in Premier League, #Spurs will make an attempt to try to sign him.

@change4spurs Bye, one of the worst forwards ever to wear the shirt.
English

@thespursweb You thought you could get away with it while pining your own pocket. Some of the biggest mis management of a football club ever by ENIC, this guy fronts for 24 years
English

@DawnNeesom It’s supposed to be Sport, about ability and skill, best team wins. Not anymore with games decided in the stand, players feigning injury, time wasting, rugby tackling at corners and simulation. Great role models? Not!
English

@HACKETTREF According to Mike Dean it’s May! Comments like that highlight @FA_PGMOL and the state of that organisation under Howard Webb.
English

I cannot believe that Richard Masters is allowing this poor officiating to continue.
He is in place supported by the twenty shareholders. The clubs who have voiced their concerns.
Richard Keys@richardajkeys
We can’t keep letting inadequate officials make these cock-ups. richardajkeys.com/index.php/blog…
English

@richardajkeys VAR needs to go and officials on the field need to get back to officiating and becoming accountable. PL now being undermined and becoming a laughing stock. Obvious decisions not being called and it’s like @FA_PGMOL are marking their own homework. Football is on the field not VAR.
English

@Russw777 Sky have ruined the game for all of us. Fans don’t matter and it’s all about their schedules and giving work to ex footballers who are biased and lack objectivity. The written media is worse, the bias and lazy journalism rather than real objective insight is insulting.
English

@FA_PGMOL why do we now have situations where officials refuse to make on field calls?, even obvious ones and rely on their mates in VAR to cover them. Then it is May according to one of your ex-officials. Apologies after the event don’t cut it.
English

@MrCracknell Agree, again we have failed to make the right decisions most of the game. The Penalty and also the long ball across our own penalty area in the 1st half. Our general play looks tepid, slow and cautious. Not sure we can cope with the pressure and take control of a game.
English

@AlasdairGold Generous for Porro, Udogie, Muani and Richarlison is not worth 1 let alone 5. Muani and Richarlison are up there with Soldado, Janssen & Postiga as some of the worst forwards ever to wear the shirt.
English

Here are my Spurs player ratings after a game in which they just didn't take their chances and paid the price. Kinsky stopped it being even worse. football.london/tottenham-hots…

@SpursArmyTweets @PLMatchCentre Probably would have missed it anyway!

🚨 Premier League STATEMENT on the decision to NOT award a penalty on James Maddison:
“The referee’s call of no penalty to Tottenham Hotspur was checked and confirmed by VAR – with it deemed that Nmecha played the ball.”

VAR YOU ARE A DISGRACE! 🤬🤬🤬🤬 x.com/jeremydokubelg…

@thespursweb Not good enough, created very little and lacked the intent and commitment for a side in this position. It goes to the final day as West Ham will get something at Newcastle. We have to accept we are not good enough and over 38 games we will end where we deserve to be.
English

@thespursweb Sky not mentioned the Spurs Penalty once after the game.
English

@DuncanCastles @TransfersCast @Transfersdotcom @premierleague It’s a penalty but he doesn’t make contact with the head. Ampadu holding the top of his head is typical of the modern day footballer.
English

Kicking an opponent in the head is a clear penalty.
Should not need multiple replays from the VAR.
Should not need an on-field review.
Should not need multiple replays at pitch side.
Should not take over 3 minutes to award.

@SpursOfficial A team that just contrives and finds ways to not win football matches. It has to be one of worst front lines ever to play for the club. It goes to the final day, under pressure we show no intent or heart. The lack of quality is undeniable.
English

@SpursOfficial A toothless forward line, nothing incisive or with intent. A team that has an obsession to play at walking pace and backwards and sideways in front of their own penalty area. You can see why they don’t win football matches.
English

@henrywinter PL football is not about football ability anymore. Can you beat the officials and VAR. How can integrity be maintained when titles and relegation are decided by such inconsistencies. Rugby style grappling, simulation, time wasting and feigning injury not worth a 2K season ticket
English

Will Arsenal be worthy champions if they get over the line? There is plenty of criticism of Arsenal's football, the set-piece arts/dark arts, the antics of Arteta in the technical area, and triumphalism of some fans such as the one with that presumptuous “champions” shirt. Throw in the usual club tribalism and that season-defining VAR decision (correct call but officials inconsistent in punishing grappling this season) and there’s plenty of antipathy towards Arsenal.
But it is a truism universally acknowledged that the team that finish top first are worthy champions. It’s a marathon of 38 sprints and Arsenal have demonstrated the required ability, character and stamina. They have had their mentality questioned all season (and before). From Raya to Rice, Gabriel to Gyokeres, all of the squad have shown resilience. Battlers, not bottlers. Rice in particular embodies their will to win.
It’s good to see a club keeping faith in a talented manager during the near-misses; keeping financial balance (top with fourth largest wage bill); and building a squad so that hugely capable players can come off the bench and make a big difference as Odegaard did against West Ham. And isn’t it more refreshing to see a range of champions (if they do hold on)? Five different clubs have been champions since Arsenal in 2004.
It’s also important to see a club committed to their academy, creating a pathway for Saka, Lewis-Skelly, Dowman and others, and giving them a chance to shine; it’s good for sustainability, culture and connection with fans. It’s encouraging to see a club working with fans to improve atmosphere (tifos, coach greets).
Off-field, too. All clubs have vital community departments; Arsenal in the Community is widely acknowledged as the oldest and one of the most impactful at home and abroad with around 100 full-time and part-time staff. There is much good about Arsenal. If they do hold on, Arsenal will be worthy champions on and off the pitch. #AFC
English

@Allthings__THFC Going to the final day, that’s what Spurs do, won’t make it easy for themselves.
English

@BBCMOTD It’s a foul but the lack of consistency on this type of decision is the problem. Too many times these have been ignored but also most players are being overly dramatic with the falling over. There is also a major problem with the rugby style holding and blocking gone on too long
English

Wow 😳 Pure chaos in the box.
