To see such an important game decided on such an event, for five minutes to be taken on something that’s meant to be clear and obvious, only to arrive at a completely contradictory conclusion to how most of this season has been officiated.. that’s a disaster for the league, isn’t it? Especially on top of the 115 farce.

They’ve scored two goals against United from corners where there were fouls that ought to have seen the goals ruled out. They don’t have to be exactly the same, people aren’t talking about fouls on goalkeepers exclusively and I suspect you know that, they’re talking about the 3/4 fouls committed at every set piece that referees are not brave enough to stop and take the time to examine because they look at the incident closest to the ball/key moment. That does happen almost every single Arsenal game. It’s been a fascinating tactic to some extent because it’s testing the referees and the spirit of the game but it’s grim to watch and is really against the rules because of the number of fouls.
