Unpopular opinion on Pokémon black and white

the reason we're having Powerscaling discourse is bc yall are getting battleboarding and powerscaling mixed up Battleboarding is the "does Goku beat Alien X" type shit, Powerscaling is "we cant make Hulk lose to a normal civillian bc he's much stronger than a regular dude"

Power scaling implies a character can only defeat an opponent by being equally as strong or stronger than them. And that’s observably untrue.

Most anime "fans" nowadays only "likes" anime because it is currently popular and don't want to feel left out. They don't want to engage and integrate into established otaku culture, they want to police it instead. When they caught glimpses of non-mainstream shows, they got weirded out because anime in general wasn't actually made for them. So they post contents on Youtube, Reddit, Tiktok, and Twitter about wanting anime to be changed and cater more to their taste. They force themselves to enjoy something that, deep down, they actually don't like. This whole thing resulted in performative anime fans, people who claim to be fans, yet consistently complain every show outside of their beloved single genre having common anime tropes. Hell, they sometimes don't even like the anime aspect in the shows they actually watched.
