The "gateway to smoking" claim is like "popcorn lung." A myth, easily debunked with your own eyes if you LOOK at what teen and young adult surveys show... but a myth that keeps popping up.

Every generation seems to need to re-learn this: Prohibition does not make things magically go away. It drives them underground into the hands of (often violent) criminal gangs who don't care how old their customers are. No age-checks. The exact opposite of the intended goal.
