Up until 10 years ago, I was a "funeral-ready" cigarette smoking slave of big tobacco & donor of Govt tobacco taxes. 10 years quit thanks to vaping, has saved not only my life but also $100000 in taxes! Times that by 500000 vaping Australians = $50Billion So why has our Govt made it hard for vapers? 🤔🤨 Revenue loss? 💸

You know you are probably asking the right questions when one of the voices in Australian tobacco control, Beck Freeman, blocks you instead of engaging with the substance of what you are saying. That is not about personal disagreement. Public debate should involve disagreement. What is striking is how often lived experience, consumer perspectives, unintended consequences, and harm reduction arguments are dismissed rather than openly debated. Many of the people raising these issues are treated as though they are the problem simply for refusing to stay silent. Blocking people may curate a feed, but it does not make the policy contradictions disappear. At some point, evidence, outcomes, and reality have to matter more than protecting a narrative. To me, it is a sign of weakness! When someone is very confident in both their evidence and their position, they are usually willing to tolerate scrutiny, disagreement, and uncomfortable questions.
