Overnight there was an explosion in a Jewish school in Amsterdam in what the city’s mayor called a “targeted attack against the Jewish community.” The day before a synagogue in Rotterdam was set on fire. All of this within 48 hours of the Dutch gov announcing its support for the fraudulent anti Israel genocide lie enthusiastically promoted within the EU by the Irish gov & supported in 2024 by the entire Dail. The peddling of that lie has coincided with escalating & overt antisemitism in Ireland. The antisemitic attacks in the Netherlands starkly illustrate what it incites & is understood by antisemites & Israel haters as validating when promoted by government’s intent on appeasing their domestic fanatics. Irish members of government who embraced & normalised it shortly after Israel was attacked on Oct 7, 2023, together with the entire Dail have directly stoked that antisemitism & hate & encouraged its spread across the EU. Nothing said yet by anyone in our government about the despicable attacks in the Netherlands

I wrote this today in a tongue-in-cheek mood of frustration. There are people in the UK who think it serves their cause to set fire to ambulances simply because they are operated by Jews. This evening, I’ve been at a dinner with hundreds of Jewish people, many of whom I consider friends. The thought struck me that there are millions of people around the world, some in the UK, who would wish everyone in that room dead. Jews for simply being Jews, and the rest of us for being friends with Jews. Such is the cancer of antisemitism. That feels like this whole problem in microcosm, but the hate will not win. These sad little people with their hate-filled lives cannot defeat fraternity and friendship, because those things are founded on love. And love has to be stronger than hate. If you’re not Jewish and not in the camp that hates Jews, I implore you to speak up for your Jewish countrymen and women at a time when hate is the noisiest voice. And if you’re in the camp who hate Israel and Jews and their friends? Well then, fuck you. Losers.

Charlie Kirk nailed it. "It's hunting season for Jews...No one's gonna come and defend you." While we do have some incredible humans by our side, do not wait to be rescued. Get tougher. Fight through it. And I'll add: Embrace our friends. They need us too. They are next.
