I just spoke with President @GitanasNauseda. The situation at the border with Belarus is worsening, with the growing incursions of smuggling balloons into Lithuania’s airspace. Such hybrid attack by the Lukashenka regime is completely unacceptable. Lithuania continues to have our full solidarity. We are preparing further measures under our sanctions regime.

Europe stands in full solidarity with Lithuania in the face of the persistent incursions of helium smuggling balloons into its airspace. This is destabilisation. This is provocation. We call it by its name: a hybrid threat. We will not tolerate it. This is yet another reason to accelerate our flagships - the Eastern Flank Watch and the European drone defence initiative.

Three years into Russia’s brutal war against #Ukraine, the share of Russian #LNG imports to Europe hasn’t dropped. Not by a single percent.

Every tanker offloaded in European ports brings more cash into the Kremlin’s war machine. This isn’t just about energy policy. It’s about values and Europe’s security. If the ongoing Kremlin’s destruction of Ukraine isn’t enough to force a strategic rethink, then what will it take?

Once again, Russia has deliberately unleashed hundreds of drones and missiles on #Ukraine’s civilian and energy infrastructure. The Kremlin continues to pursue its terrorist objectives: to freeze, starve, and terrorize the 🇺🇦 nation into surrender. Russia will not seek peace unless it is compelled to do so. We must stop feeding its imperial appetite and put an end to state terrorism. How many more Ukrainians must die before Europe decisively cuts off Russian oil and gas imports and helps Ukraine arm itself sufficiently enough to stop this evil once and for all?!

Russians occupied her city when she was five. Now, they are turning her into a soldier. Oleksandra Deminova from Russian-occupied Makiivka, Donetsk region, ended up in Russian Vladivostok, where she is being made a "cadet" in the militarized program of the "Warrior Center". She is one of tens of thousands of Ukrainian children who have become participants in Russia’s propaganda programs. They are taught to operate drones, sent thousands of kilometers from home, and presented to Putin in military uniforms as a "successful project." 📹: Save Ukraine

.@SecGenNATO was right - listening to Lavrov's speeches is worthless. Nothing good and true comes out of his mouth. Yesterday, Lavrov made another speech, this time - at the #UNGA, and lied about Russia's commitment to #UN Charter and its principles, and to peace. At the same time, #Russia showered #Ukraine with missiles and drones, thus showing off its real - terrorist - face. It was one of its largest air attacks against #Kyiv and the surrounding region since 2022. It was a calculated and deliberate escalation aimed at terrorizing civilians, and a desperate attempt to mask Russia’s stagnation on the battlefield. No real gains, just destruction.

Europe must stop buying Russian gas and oil, ramp up comprehensive, all-around pressure on Russia and provide Ukraine with robust air-defense.

We remember the longing for freedom that Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian people demonstrated with the Baltic Way. And today we highly appreciate the genuine solidarity of the Baltic states, in the face of dumb Russian imperialism. Just as you have, we are defending the right of our state and our people to independent life, and against the Russian attempt to subjugate us. As the critical US-Russia summit in Alaska approaches, speculation about a possible territorial “swap” between #Ukraine and #Russia is surfacing. There have been claims that the occupation of parts of Ukraine would be “temporary” and only “de facto”, leaving hope for their return to Ukraine in the future. History warns us to think twice. We, the Baltic nations know what “only de facto” Russian occupation means and that “temporary” can last half a century. Putin’s goals have not changed. He aims to subjugate Ukraine, split allies and get a say over European security. The only sure path to lasting peace is through strength: unwavering transatlantic unity to sustain pressure on Russia, maximum support to Ukraine so it can defend its people and territory, and deep, sustained investment in our own defence and security. Today marks 85 years since Sumner Welles Declaration — a bold statement by U.S,🇺🇸denouncing the Soviet occupation of Lithuania🇱🇹, Latvia🇱🇻, and Estonia🇪🇪. At a time when 3 Baltic States were forcibly annexed by the Soviet Union, the United States declared it would never recognize the legitimacy of this occupation. The Welles Declaration was not just symbolic — it was a diplomatic lifeline which affirmed that Lithuania’s diplomatic missions abroad remained open, they continued to fly the Lithuanian flag, and our diplomats acted in the name of a country that had been erased from maps — but not from law. 50 other countries have followed the U.S. and never recognized the occupation of the Baltic States. The Welles Declaration upheld continuity of the state of Lithuania in the face of brutal occupation and embodied a simple but powerful truth: no country should ever gain territory through aggression. Today, as Russia rages the war of aggression against Ukraine🇺🇦, the message of the Welles Declaration is more urgent than ever: illegal occupation and border changed by force cannot be accepted. Great news - 🇪🇺18th sanctions package got a green light! With that Europe unleashes a sanctions’ strike Russia can’t ignore - targeting the heart of its war economy. With further sanctions on over 100 shadow fleet vessels, 22 Russian banks, ban on Nordstream 1 and 2 and lowering of the Oil Price Cap we ensure that Russia stays right on the course of running out of blood money. The EU paved the way. Now it’s time for perfect storm – the U.S. Senate to vote on that Russia sanctions bill imposing crushing burdens on Russian economy and those fueling Russia's war of aggression.
