This morning at #CHBAHomeBuildingWeek, we announced the Association Leadership Awards! Each year, CHBA recognizes the outstanding work of dedicated volunteer members and the leadership shown by our local and provincial HBAs and their EOs.

It was a pleasure to meet with the Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement, @stcrawford2, and the MPP for Cambridge, @BR4CambridgePC, yesterday afternoon to discuss how we can collaborate to build more homes in Ontario. #IWD2025 To double housing starts over the next decade and help address Canada housing affordability challenges, the residential construction workforce is going to need to grow – by an estimated 1.04 million workers according to @BuildForceCan. Yet, women are still widely underrepresented in the construction industry, @BuildForceCan reports, making up only 13.2% of all construction workers. There is no better time than now to encourage young women in the sector, and local and provincial HBAs across the country are doing their part to #AccelerateAction through their own #WomenInResidentialConstruction Committees and Councils! Special shoutout to @bildedmonton, @CHBACO, @GuelphHBA, @WestEndHBA, and @GOHBA_Ottawa for their work to break through barriers for women in the industry. 👷🛠️ 🌟 These Committees and Councils are helping inform some very exciting things on the horizon to support women in residential construction nationally.
