@FionaCampbell74 It’s all such a waste of time and money, if they’d set the thing up properly in the first place. Damage is done now, people pushed out of the business, properties sold, accommodation costs now exorbitant, people holidaying abroad as more welcoming. So sad.

Scottish Ministers are now considering our formal request for an immediate national moratorium on short-term let licensing and planning enforcement.
This follows our legal submission highlighting serious flaws in the current framework and the growing economic harm to responsible operators.
A pause would create space for meaningful engagement and a fair, workable and lawful system. The ASSC stands ready to support constructive solutions and will keep members updated.

Scapegoating of self catering needs to stop @scotgov. There are over 29k people employed by the sector... and 7k of those are in the Highlands.

A 65th birthday to remember. Power went out as we boarded an underground train. Stayed off around 10 hours. Top tip: always book a hotel with natural light in its corridors and stairwells. Ours was like the blitz…

So, as @Fiona Campbell74 predicted, people are hiring campervans and the roads and lay-bys this summer will be carnage with no regulation or management. It didn’t need to be this way!
