Sports are segregated by sex for the exact reasons you mention. Nothing has to change. Males in men/boys sports. Females in women/girls sports. There’s no need to complicate things. Not everyone can compete in sports because the majority of people don’t qualify for one reason or another. I was awful at sports despite enjoying some of them. I was never good enough to get picked for the team. I didn’t QUALIFY. Boys don’t qualify for girls/women’s sports because they’re not FEMALE. That’s life! It’s really that simply. They have to get used to being denied entry into women’s spaces and sports because they are not and never will be women. If that means they can’t compete in sports because they self exclude or don’t QUALIFY for boys/mens sports either, then so be it. It’s tough. Girls/women’s sports are not a consolation prize for boys/men who can’t cut it in the male category, where they belong. Boys who pretend to be girls have to get used to being told the truth, even if it hurts, because living a lie and medicalising their healthy bodies to try to bolster the lie simply isn’t healthy or sustainable. They must learn they can’t have everything they want, no matter what adults who claim to be “trans”, mummy/daddy or their quack doctors promised them.

I wanted to follow up from my last tweets. I’ve always believed competitive equity & inclusivity are both essential in sport. The current system doesn’t adequately balance these important principles, which often leads to frustration and heated exchanges, and it didn’t help for me to get personal with Riley, which I apologize for. These are sensitive, complicated issues that I truly don’t have the answers or solutions to, but I believe it starts with empathy and respect. I was not advocating for policies that compromise fairness in women’s sports. My objection is to be singling out children for public scrutiny in ways that feel personal and harmful. Individual athletes—especially kids—should never be the focus of criticism of a flawed system they have no control over. I believe sports organizations have a responsibility to come up with rules supporting inclusion while maintaining fair competition. We all want a future for sport that is fair, inclusive, and respectful.
