@remyb2 Ironically enough we don’t always need to hire the expertise just listen to it and not piss it off until it leaves for the private sector

Someone shared to me a G-firm commissioned document about cyber security. *Le Sigh* Another ~$100k, 77 pages document saying something we already knew: hire more cyber security expertise.

@remyb2 @supergovernance Nice! So you listened to people actually going through internal governance in order to deliver value to citizens and collected their professional insights to produce an analysis grounded in reality instead of pushing buzzword frameworks? All the better imho 😉

@GuillCharest @supergovernance Fun fact: all info came from talking to EMPLOYEES of various teams (EPMO, BPMO, Finance, Transport Canada's Agile CoE, CRA' sustainability program) None of it came from commercial industry think tank that we know of....

@remyb2 @supergovernance This last entry in your excellent series is simply amazing. It is really well written and provides so much practical knowledge! Kudos to you for explains these hard to grasp concepts in ways that many can relate to in the government!

@remyb2 @sboots I think the main argument made is that we (larger and more traditional organizations) conflate EA as a set of processes and techniques that IT alone can properly do. If EA (the practice) is only accomplished within the corporate IT branch, is it enterprise architecture?

@sboots EA is a community. Not a person. And product teams are part of that community. A human can't be an EA. Its impossible to know all about gov programs, services, and tech stacks. EA is meant to be strategic but is too often involved in tacital stuff (projects).

Been away getting married, which was the best. I feel so lucky to have been able to gather with my people again. A shout-out to our incredible friend who officiated our wedding @ae_clarke, who I think I knew on Twitter before I knew she would play such a big role in our lives!

@ElanaAptowitzer @dr_abela That’s what I was about to say as well! I used to have a list of pre written answers given how often the same experience requirements came back in posters and how I had to repeat the same experience multiple times in the same application 🫤

1/ I was asked to put together some thoughts on government and #opensource. What follows is a summary of what I put together. I would love any feedback and ideas you might have. Tag others as well and lets have a good conversation.

@JohnKingBain @FlexGCInfo Markdown file in a Git repo? Separates the content from the presentation, enables collaboration on the content. If Google Workspace, make the working docs available for suggestions with the latest version published.

@FlexGCInfo the most... probably a wiki, but tbh just having it in a word document would be fine as it puts it in to a ed8table format. let's see if we can wakeup @GuillCharest :D
