@Imonlyslightly @JeromeAdamsMD Actually looking back through our conversation you are right, your comments weren't necessarily as passive aggressive as I interpreted them. I apologize. Good night.

@GunillaJoha @JeromeAdamsMD Nah. Ad hominem is poor & you use it with too much ease. Examples from you: Seems to be some cognitive dissonance at work here. You do not seem to be discussing this in good faith. From the line, If there is something you actually want to discuss. Have a good life. Bye now.

Remember the Great Barrington Declaration signers demanding we let our kids catch an unknown virus ASAP so the economy could roar back? 🤔 New OECD study: Long COVID will cost us up to $135B a year, be drag on global economy for the next decade. 👇🏽 bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

@Imonlyslightly @JeromeAdamsMD You are right, but I’d be happy to continue the discussion if there is something you actually want to discuss. At the moment, though, you seem more interested in flooding me with very old opinion pieces that have not aged well.

@Imonlyslightly @JeromeAdamsMD Yes, I agree. The overall health of a population probably mattered most. But also keep in mind that restrictions in the rest of the Nordics were fairly mild as well. Decision-makers in 🇳🇴 hint that sick pay was all that mattered. From Norwegian BBC: nrk.no/tromsogfinnmar…

@GunillaJoha @JeromeAdamsMD The diagram is interesting. If the stats are correct the Nordic countries had the lowest mortality rates. With Norway & Denmark implementing restrictions while Sweden did not (in the beginning) it suggests there is something else at play.

@Imonlyslightly @JeromeAdamsMD If Sweden achieved the lowest mortality on the continent, that includes the Nordics, Carol. And this is dishonest again: nobody is apologizing in the video. He says too many died, but that says more about the rest of the continent, doesn’t it?

@GunillaJoha @JeromeAdamsMD You think an argument that you cannot compare countries with different demographics was wrong or is different now than it was six years ago? Or that when the King of Sweden apologises on a video it never happened?

@Imonlyslightly @JeromeAdamsMD Maybe I was a bit too blunt, but you do not seem to be discussing this in good faith. You are just posting very old articles and opinion pieces when we now have real-world data. For example, how is it relevant to this discussion what iSAGE thought (and were wrong about) in 2020?

@Imonlyslightly @JeromeAdamsMD It’s called Nordic humility Carol. You do realize you’re quibbling over the phrasing “too many died” when it was said by the man who led the country that ended up with the lowest mortality on the continent? There seems to be some cognitive dissonance at work here.

@pizdoboldestroy @JeromeAdamsMD Yes but we have the same proportion of stupid people as everyone else, it's just that the "anti-vax monkeys" in the US lost trust in the people telling them what's good for them, and for good reason. x.com/CDCgov/status/…

@GunillaJoha @DrDiGiorgio @JeromeAdamsMD @anshulkundaje I’d argue that the masking mandates in 2020 were as scientific you could get at the start of the pandemic. It was unclear if COVID was airborne or spread by droplets, how similar it was to SARS, etc. Masks seemed likely to work from what we knew at the time

@ImNotEmilyLee @DrDiGiorgio @JeromeAdamsMD @anshulkundaje If people want to mask to feel safer, of course they should. But when institutions impose questionable NPIs and exaggerate their benefits, they burn public trust and that lowers compliance with measures that truly matter. In a pandemic, trust is the most important resource.

@ImNotEmilyLee @DrDiGiorgio @JeromeAdamsMD @anshulkundaje There was never solid evidence that school masking made a meaningful difference. The certainty around it in the US was unusually extreme and more tribal than scientific. Most Western countries looked at the same evidence and concluded that young children should not be masked.

@DrDiGiorgio @JeromeAdamsMD @anshulkundaje Proper sick pay is the most effective NPI, but the disingenuous part is; that was barely pushed in US discourse back then. Instead, your left sphere focused on pushing performative measures that made no beneficial difference, like school closures/masking, because they are morons.

@JoannaTeglund He’s just trying to spin statistical noise into something scary. Here’s the age-standardized all-cause mortality among 0–4-year-olds. A big fat nothingburger.

@GunillaJoha The most successful psyop in history, which resulted in almost everyone becoming infected with the bioweapon SARS-CoV-2 was coordinated from Sweden with the help of an army of Gunnillas—may they burn in hell. I started warning in Jan 2020, 200,000+ tweets. x.com/JoannaTeglund/…

"Early claims that SARS-CoV-2 poses essentially no harm to children were dangerously oversimplified and wrong" These were lies based on a fraudulent study by the Swedish paediatrician Jonas Ludvigsson, manufactured in Sweden—Satan's PR agency—and amplified globally by the media🧵

@dreamy_run @JeromeAdamsMD You don’t understand the things you’re linking. I linked the age-standardized excess mortality data in the first post, peer-reviewed and published in The Lancet. Second, Eurostat explicitly warns against using the HLE data the way you’re doing here: ec.europa.eu/eurostat/cache…

@GunillaJoha @JeromeAdamsMD 1st, Sweden has misrepresented its mortality rates. x.com/i/status/15032… 2nd, Sweden has seen a huge recent drop in healthspan (bigger than peers'), so even if you are living as long, your quality of life has dropped. x.com/i/status/20312… Mind mortality *and* morbidity.

👀 Absolutely staggering drop in Healthy Life Expectancy in Sweden according to Eurostat. From 73.3 years of healthy life expectancy down to 66.2. *Sweden*. Can no one understand how much trouble we're in?

@JeromeAdamsMD I was replying re:school closures, but I’d love for the US to adopt more Swedish-style policies and politics, especially stronger protections against political interference so institutions can be more data-driven and evidence-based, because both of your political tribes are nuts.

Pointing to Sweden isn't the flex you think. Sweden has about 10.7 million people, smaller than at least 9 U.S. states. It is a homogeneous, high-trust society with universal tax-funded health insurance, some of the world's highest income taxes (often over 50%), and generous paid time off (minimum 25 vacation days plus extensive parental and sick leave). So are you advocating we adopt big government, high taxes, and heavy redistribution here in the U.S. to match their outcomes? Or does "Sweden did it" only count when it fits one narrative? 🤔 The study you referenced also doesn't erase excess deaths during the pandemic or the documented impacts of Long COVID. Cherry-picking one small country's approach while ignoring scale and full context is questionable at best, and disingenuous at worst.

The confirmed TB caseload continues to climb and climb. Back in 2022, several covid minimisers loudly claimed that Covid infection couldn't be causing lasting immune system damage, because there was no increase in TB. Well. Here's the increase in TB:
