@joecarlsonshow Good mix of stocks blueships mostly…showing total% gains without showing the cagr is misleading but good portfolio for someone in 50s who is worth millions already and is more in asset protection mode than asset growth phase like in 20-40 age range

How my portfolios look today. Since Netflix has fallen 45% from it's highs i'm now only currently up 58% on the stock, or $20 thousand.

@joecarlsonshow @amitisinvesting Even if it shows eps growth of 6% it means peg close to 3…why would anyone pay this high valuation when other high quality is available at less than peg 1.. and i am nt talking about some random companies but well known higher growth companies with eps growth more than 10%

Amit, I know you care a lot about accuracy when people discuss your investments, and I genuinely respect that. I think the same standard is worth applying here too. On the Roku/Lionsgate point, I don’t think it’s accurate to say Netflix tried to buy either. Netflix said they “did not make a bid” for Roku, and I haven’t seen evidence that they tried to buy Lionsgate either. So I think that part of the post may be working on a false premis. That said, Netflix clearly could have pursued either asset if they really wanted to. They are in a strong financial position and likely could have been competitive with almost any bidder. To me, the fact that they didn’t chase those deals actually points away from desperation, not toward it. On the EPS point, you said: “the only reason they beat EPS last quarter was because of the $3B breakup fee, otherwise no growth.” I think that misses some important context. Even if you exclude the EPS benefit from the WBD termination fee, Netflix still would have grown EPS by roughly 6%. The $2.8 billion windfall also was not booked as revenue, so revenue growth of 16% in the quarter was organic. And management guided for 12–14% full-year revenue growth. On content, I understand the argument that Netflix didn’t have a massive breakout hit like Squid Game. But Netflix has also said no single title accounts for more than 1% of total viewing. So judging the business by whether one massive title hit feels a little like saying YouTube is in trouble because one MrBeast video didn’t perform well. Netflix has an extremely broad viewer base across many genres and interests, and they also said their internal quality-engagement metric reached an all-time high last quarter. That metric is admittedly vague, but it is still directionally positive. Still love ya, and I’m not saying Netflix is flawless. I just think the post starts from a premise that may be more driven by the recent media narrative than by what actually happened.

$NFLX completely getting demolished cheapest it’s been in years, but every time I think of buying I remember… - no hit shows leading to massive growth like Squid Game for example - they tried to buy $WBD and $ROKU, now $LION which makes me think they really are struggling to create content - the only reason they beat EPS last Q was because of the $3B breakup fee, otherwise no growth - Mag 7s are better businesses trading at lower multiples what’s the argument to go long here other than it is bottoming? which I agree it probably is…but is risk to reward amazing here even if it doesn’t go that much lower?

"Joseph, why do you talk about Tesla Stock" Because it's fun. That's why. And what's the point of this website if you're not having fun. No, it's not 'engagement bait' I make almost no money on this website, and I don't need help with engagement on my channels. It's for fun. And debating is fun. Tesla is doing stuff worth debating. What would you rather me talk about, how Microsoft is a good company, and other stuff everyone already agrees on? Is that as interesting to you? I like focusing on points of disagreement because it's far more interesting than just restating stuff you know everyone will agree with. You can take any of my stocks and argue totally against my thesis, and I think that's far more interesting than just agreeing on everything. So stop complaining that I share a alternative viewpoint once in a while. Just have fun and not take everything so seriously.

Day 1, jerky steering, drifting into the wrong part of an intersection, making an illegal lane correction, getting honked at, and then driving on the wrong side of the road across a double yellow line into a turn lane. This is not even an edge case, it's a standard intersection with nothing abnormal happening.

well i don't think it is a losing company. I think they are just in transition and the price to value difference is phenomenal. NVDA has 50% margin but is it worth it when selling for 60X earnings? a great story at the wrong price becomes a bad investment. thanks for the comment!

Everyone's chasing AI. Meanwhile, Southwest Airlines $LUV is sitting there ignored. Before COVID, it ran 10–15% profit margins very consistently. Best-run airline in the country. Real cash machine. 48 years in a row of profitability. Today? Revenue is higher than pre-COVID, but margins are 1–2%. The market thinks it’s broken. I don't think it is. Labor costs, operations, and post-COVID chaos hit them hard. But if they get back to even 9–11% margins — something they've done for years — this stock is worth multiples of today’s price. This isn’t a gamble, as much as a a return to normal. Southwest doesn’t need to invent anything. It just needs to operate like it always has. Clean balance sheet. Loyal flyers. Proven execution. It’s not exciting. It’s not trending. But that’s exactly why I’m watching it and why I own it (Don't own anything because ANYONE owns it...own it because you have done the work and feel good about the prospects). Great businesses don’t stay out of favor forever. Be patient. Look where others aren’t. Below is my 10 year analysis on the stock if they are able to even get to 10 or 11% margin. If you could own 20-30 companies with these potential numbers, you would do quite well. The question is, will Southwest be able to perform?

I never think it’s a good idea to invest in companies that their own customers hate. The fact that customers love Costco, Texas Roadhouse, Amazon, Netflix, etc is a very positive thing for the business. You want customers on your side. United Healthcare, and other insurance companies are probably some of the most hated companies in the world by their very own customers. Some companies get a little hate from their customers (meta/uber). But it doesn’t even approach the level that health insurers get. Insurance companies may be on the top of the most hated companies by customers.

There are three groups of people. Uber Investors: Hoping that Waymo and other self-driving cars will partner with them. Trying to convince people to look at the current numbers more than the story. Tesla Investors: Hoping they can rapidly expand AV. Trying to convince people to look at the story more than the current numbers. Waymo Investors: Where they're like "it's cool if this works out, but no biggie because if not Google still prints cash"

Im glad the $BRK in Omaha is done. Only a few more days of watching people post on social media about all the things they’ve learned from Warren Buffett and then proceed to buy $NVDA at nosebleed valuations or buy a cryptocurrency and then quote Warren Buffett about fear and greed as their justification. #BerkshireHathaway
