Sexual harassment by lecturers on students is a serious problem at that fake university. Students already struggle with high tuition fees, fake bursaries, and forced retakes. On top of that, some lecturers who don't zip their trousers and shirts demand sexual favours especially from those students who join them (fresher). They expose themselves and pressure students for sex in exchange for good marks or special benefits. Attractive female and male students are often forced into sexual acts to get better grades, bursaries, or other advantages. Those who refuse face serious consequences. Lecturers may ruin their academic records with failing marks, making it hard for them to complete their studies or build successful careers. A clear example of the dangers students face happened on Sunday, 17 September 2025, in the morning. A second-year Nigerian Law student was allegedly gang-raped in her off-campus hostel room in Katungu Cell, Ishaka Division. Knife-wielding men broke into the room, threatened to kill her if she screamed, raped her in turns, and stole her phone. The police confirmed the case and gave her the necessary medical forms, but no arrests have been made up to now. Student security both on and off campus is a major worry. Many more students continue to suffer in silence. #IstandWithSpire #SueMeKIU

Two UPDF battalions, the 33rd and the 103rd, are on their way to Iran to fight alongside Israel and the United States. This follows the CDF’s pledge to Israel in the ongoing war, which is slowly crippling the world economy, as Iran continues to carry out cyberattacks against Uganda.

I’ve spent the last 8 months in the cocoa export space, facilitating and watching tonnes of beans leave our country and for about 6 months , it felt like progress. Containers moving, deals closing, numbers growing. But the more you sit in that space, the more one question refuses to leave your mind where is the real value going? Because it’s not staying with us. We do the hard part. We grow the cocoa, we harvest, we ferment, we dry… and then we export it. Somewhere else, that same cocoa becomes chocolate bars, cocoa powder, cosmetics, brands products that sell for many times what we earned from the raw beans. That gap is where the real opportunity is and it’s the gap we’ve normalized for too long. When you look at the coffee sector, you start to see a different story emerging. People like @JackieAkampwera of @JadaCoffee and brands like @volcanocoffee1 Coffee led by @GKatabazi , @harvestrumEdge Coffee and @KBarigye made a decision not to stop at the farm gate. They went further into roasting, branding, packaging and building experiences people are willing to pay for. That shift is changing everything in the coffee sector . It created jobs, built identity and most importantly retained value. And I keep asking myself why not cocoa? This is where I am now. After working in exports, I’m turning part of my time and capital to domestic cocoa value addition. Not as an idea but as something practical we can start building immediately. It won’t be perfect. It won’t be big at the start. But it will be ours. I’m looking for young people who are ready to step into this space food scientists who understand processing, creatives who can shape products and anyone willing to invest time, skill or resources into building something meaningful. The plan is : I start by providing about 5tns of cocoa to the team for trial purposes , we learn by doing, we refine the process and we grow from there. Because this is bigger than just a business idea. It’s about shifting how we think. We cannot keep exporting raw potential and importing finished success. We’ve seen what is possible with coffee. Now it’s time to do the same or even better with cocoa. If you’ve been waiting for a sign to build something real this might be it. Let’s create value where it starts. For God and my country
