Confession…. At this point, I honestly don’t know what Ronu is anymore. The same Ronu we revived to reconnect with our immediate ancestors with a mind to spark a great mind revolution few months ago is now and trigger word for petty banters. Everybody is now fighting and dragging it like Alexander’s generals fighting for his body on his sick bed for their different agendas. The interesting paradox is that Chief Hubert Ogunde coined the concept to champion Yoruba unity. Even read a few people saying you can be in ADC and still be a Ronu…. What kind of Ronu is possible in the camp of Atiku and Peter Obi….. can a Ronu in good conscience be in a camp of feudalists and Abacha apologists? This is exactly what happens when people jump into something they don’t really understand because they believe they have loud megaphones and just want to be where the action is. Don’t make Ronu the new hustle. It is too sacred for petty rascality.
