We had a lot of problems with Iran prior to the war, yet we're no closer to solving them than before this started.

I think we ought to negotiate a ceasefire with Iran because the costs of the war have been tremendous.

Wildfires are a consistent threat to our military bases and the communities around them, so we cannot afford to overlook this risk. That’s why I raised this issue with Department of Defense officials at an Armed Services Committee hearing, pushing for stronger investment in wildfire prevention and the use of innovative technology to protect our infrastructure and keep Americans safe.

MacFarlane: I’ve got to tell you what the ranking member on the House Armed Services Committee told me when I asked him about Iran and how much information key members of Congress are getting. And pardon the language, but Adam Smith, in a measured tone without raising his voice, said about Iran: it’s a bad fucking idea. I asked him whether he was more concerned about transparency or the military action itself, and he said, in so many words, that he keeps telling people it’s a terrible idea.
