With wildfires already ablaze across Southern California, I passed an amendment to bring greater federal investment into wildfire research. Wildfires are a real, present threat that require a comprehensive, advanced response. We can do that by improving our sensing and prevention measures.

Everyone agrees we have a housing crisis. What people are tired of is Congress talking about it without doing anything. Today, Democrats and Republicans in the House came together to pass the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act — a major bipartisan step to cut red tape, build more homes, and bring down housing costs in California and across the country. Now the Senate needs to act and send this bill to the President’s desk.

A huge thank you to @Rep_Whitesides for not only inviting us to Washington — but for actually doing something about this scam epidemic. In a time when it feels like nothing in politics can bring people together, scams somehow manage to do exactly that. Democrats, Republicans, Independents — everybody has a parent, a grandparent, a neighbor, or a friend who has gotten that call. Nobody is exempt. Nobody is on the wrong side of this issue. Rep. Whitesides is fighting to establish a National Fraud and Scam Prevention Office, because right now there is no single place in the U.S. government whose entire job is to take on scams. $21 billion lost last year and we don't even have an office for it. He invited us into his world, gave us a seat at the table, and treated a couple of YouTubers from LA like our decade of work actually meant something. It did mean something to us. More than we can put into words. We're not politicians. We are not a political channel. We work with people who help us raise awareness and put scammers behind bars - regardless what side they're on. Thank you, Congressman. We won't let you down. 🫡

We've been to some wild places chasing scammers. Nigeria. India. Culver City sewers (shoutout to f'in JACK). But nothing quite prepared us for the U.S. Capitol. We spent the entire day inside those walls, meeting with congressional staffers, briefing lawmakers, and standing in front of the whole country to say: scammers are winning right now, and that needs to change. Absolutely surreal. Thank you again to @Rep_Whitesides for giving us a seat at the table.

Last year, the FBI estimates that Americans lost $21 BILLION to scams, and that's only what was publicly reported. On National Scam Survivors Day, I brought together scam survivors, advocates @Kitboga and @trilogymediainc’s Art and Ashton, and members of the Stop Scams Caucus to fight back against scammers. We have to do more to protect peoples’ hard-earned savings from scammers, and hold bad actors accountable.

I led the introduction of the Community Oriented Policing Services program this week, which fully funds a program for local departments who need to hire more officers. Well-funded local police means officers who live in our communities, send their kids to our schools, and understand how to keep our area safe.
