House Republicans finally passed the bipartisan Senate bill they’d been sitting on for over a month to end their 76-day DHS shutdown. FEMA, TSA & the Coast Guard are funded again and public servants are finally getting paid. About time.  Democrats know Americans deserve more.

The Big Ugly Law stripped food assistance from 127,000+ New Yorkers as grocery prices keep rising. Democrats offered a better Farm Bill to help families afford food. But, Republicans doubled down on their $187 billion in SNAP cuts, leaving Americans hungrier. I voted NO.

I was proud to welcome the Howard Men's Basketball Team to my office and celebrate their spectacular season. From winning their first-ever NCAA Tournament win to Bryce Harris being named MEAC player of the year, I can't wait to see what the program does next. HU...You Know!

Today we remember the 1.5 million victims of the Armenian Genocide, which began on this day 111 years ago. It is essential to remember the atrocities committed against the Armenian people at the hands of the Ottoman Empire not only to honor the victims, but to commit ourselves to preventing history from repeating.
