I was offered a ticket to see the Hillbilly Thomists in NYC in July. I know nothing about these guys except that they’re monks who sing the same songs my grandma sang - which are decidedly not Catholic. I’m inclined to say yes if I can trade someone my shift at work, so I don’t miss one- has anyone else seen them? Is it a good show?

Before he became a Dominican priest, the Rev. Justin Bolger was a musician who spent years chasing a career in Nashville. Today, the West Baltimore native is one of the driving forces behind an acclaimed bluegrass band made up entirely of Dominican friars, The Hillbilly Thomists. The Hillbilly Thomists are a band of friars of the Order of Preachers (Dominicans). After playing music together for several years, they released their debut album (The Hillbilly Thomists) in 2017. Check out their concert at Baylor September 24th!
