You can argue immigration was good. You can argue that all the immigrants are assimilating. But what's the argument for even more immigration? We already don't have enough houses or jobs. How would importing 5,000,000 people every year help in any way?

A pollinator garden surrounded by lawn is nearly useless. This sounds harsh, but it's backed by research. Isolated habitat patches fail pollinators because most native bees have small foraging ranges and can't navigate seas of inhospitable turf to reach them. What actually works is a strip along your fence line. A corridor along your driveway edge. A narrow band of natives running the full length of your property. Shape matters more than size. A long thin strip connects points A and B. It gives pollinators a navigable route: something to follow, something that guides their movement across the landscape. Research on wild bee communities found that linear semi-natural habitat edges were the single strongest predictor of bee species richness and connectivity. Bees track edges. A 2-foot-wide strip running 50 feet does more ecological work than a 10x10 flower cluster in the middle of your yard. It also multiplies when your neighbors do the same thing. A strip along your fence meets a strip along theirs. Suddenly there's a corridor running the length of the block. That's the Pollinator Pathway model: a network of connected private yards creating habitat routes that no single yard could create alone.

@_The_Prophet__ I agree that coming from O'Leary it is easy to dismiss but he's not wrong. It depends on your timeline - are you expecting to get rich quick? If you plan on working your whole adult life, like most people this is a realistic path - live below your means, save, invest.

⚡️This is wealth propaganda designed to keep poor people passive. The entire framework of “save your way to wealth on a modest salary” exists to prevent people from asking the real question which is why am I making $69,000 in the first place and how do I change that. O’Leary is worth roughly $400 million. He knows exactly how wealth is actually built. It’s built through ownership. Equity. Leveraged upside. Asymmetric bets. Businesses that scale. Not through saving 20% of a salary someone else decided you’re worth. He would never give this advice to his own children. He would tell them to build something. Own something. Get equity. Find a deal. Take a calculated risk. The saving advice is what you give to people you don’t expect to actually become wealthy. It’s a pacifier. It keeps them in the market as liquidity for people like him while they wait 30 years for a number that won’t even be impressive when it arrives. And the framing is almost cruel when you think about it. Take 20% of $69,000. That’s telling someone making below median income to live on $55,200 before taxes. In most American cities that’s barely functional. Rent, car, food, insurance. There’s almost nothing left. The advice assumes a life of sustained deprivation in exchange for a modest payout decades later. That’s not a wealth strategy. That’s a cope. The real message underneath all of this is stay in your lane. Don’t try to build anything. Don’t take risks. Just feed your money into the machine slowly and trust that compound interest will save you. It won’t. Compound interest on small amounts produces small results on a long timeline. That’s math not opinion. The people who actually become wealthy do the thing O’Leary actually did. Not the thing he tells strangers on podcasts to do.

Kevin O'Leary says you can become a millionaire on $69,000 a year. “Take 20% of your salary of $69,000 and put it into the market each week and don't touch it”

My partner and I used to be private chefs for a billionaire and his family. He told us we were the best chefs he’d ever had. At the end of our season he helped us find an apartment in a building he owned in Denver. We set up a trade deal for lower rent- we would teach a community cooking class once a month. The classes became very popular, filled up quickly and often had wait lists. We continued them for 2 years ..planning the classes, taking off work, shopping for supplies, teaching and cleanup was at least a full day commitment for both of us. Then in chatting with a neighbor one day we found out…. they paid the exact same rent as us, with no labor in return. We were never given a rent discount, we were tricked into thinking we were so that we would provide free services. Which we did, for years. We moved out when we found out.

I voted for Trump. I thought he was tolerable enough to survive for four more years to avoid dealing with the consequences of having someone in office who closely aligned with Democratic Socialist policies. I can’t defend this type of speech and behavior from someone who uses Christianity as a platform to gain sympathetic votes, rather than a true saving faith that guides their decisions. I believe men are justified not by works, but by faith alone in Christ’s finished work on the cross so that no man can boast (Eph. 2:8-9). But I also believe as James 2 says that faith without works is dead, and that the fruit of a truly changed life are works (John 15:5). Trump doesn’t speak like a man changed. He doesn’t speak with any love, compassion, or calculated and controlled strength. He only acts out of his own interests. The leader of the free world should never push for GENOCIDE as a solution for resolution of war, let alone anything else. This isn’t to say that there wasn’t some type of intervention needed in Iran. But I don’t see how anyone with a brain or a heart can support the way he speaks and acts in office. This is not a “Christian, conservative president”. This is a dictator in disguise.
Alex Jones@RealAlexJones

🚨🚨WAR CRIME ALERT!!🚨🚨- Trump on Iran: "A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. The definition of genocide is destroying an entire civilization/people! Trump literally sounds like an unhinged super villain from a Marvel comic movie. This IS NOT WHAT WE VOTED FOR!!!

You can feed 100+ species of pollinator a day with just an apartment balcony. A sunny balcony with four or five pots of native plants becomes a pollinator refueling station. These are my favorites for balconies: 🐝 Bee balm feeds 100+ pollinator species 🌸 Salvia: hummingbirds and bees love it 🌼 Coneflower: grows in pots, blooms all summer 🌻 Dwarf sunflower: smaller varieties work great 🌻 Black eyed susan: feeds bees through summer Urban pollinators are desperate for food sources. Your balcony could be one.

@FascismIsBack @MetamateDaz Ok fascism is back wasn't the whole point lowering the value of the US dollar to increase exports, not actually lowering the amount being held in reserves? Isn't that 2 different things

Lowkey hilarious how it looked promising during Obama’s years then down only during Trump’s first term, then sideways during Biden and then a sharp decline again in Trump’s second term he is such a cartoonish cliché of an end of an empire leader that if it were a movie you’d criticize it for being hyperbolic

Trump failed crypto today. Our politicians failed us today. The entire industry showed up for him funded, supported, pushed for U.S. innovation and when it actually mattered, he folded to the same big banks crypto was built to replace. Let’s be honest about what just happened: Stablecoin yield was becoming real competition. Real alternatives. Real financial freedom. So they killed it. Not for “consumer protection.” Not for “risk management.” But because it threatens a system that survives on control, fees, inflation, and gatekeeping. Traditional banking doesn’t win in a free market so it rewrites the rules. And Washington just proved exactly who they work for. Meanwhile, politicians somehow outperform markets, insiders get rich, and we’re told this is all for our benefit. Short term? DeFi gets hit. Projects die. Innovation leaves the U.S. Long term? You can’t stop open-source. You can’t kill decentralization. But today was a reminder: They don’t want competition. They want control. Fuck every politician who sold out to big banks instead of protecting consumers.

An easy way to DCA into BTC. *Bookmark this for later* No one can time the top, but if you think the market is going south, here is a great approach. 1. Go to Meteora and find the token LP (search by CA) 2. Find the pool you like (easiest way to spot a good pool is TVL size) 3. Set range (I opened a range down to recent ATL ~$62K) 4. Add USDC sided liquidity (uncheck "Auto-Fill") 5. Choose the Bid Ask strategy 6. Create position And you're all set. Earn fees on the way down. Accumulate BTC. I think this is a great addition to my HYPE-SOL pool. PS: The new UI on Meteora is so clean, love the range on the chart.

I said 2 years ago the NBA will be irrelevant in America within 15 years. People laughed. But this is how it starts. First ratings decline, then fan interest declines, then local media revenue declines. You don’t lose cultural dominance overnight, you slowly become less relevant until it finally shows up in the business side all at once.
Shams Charania@ShamsCharania

The NBA has informed teams that the league is projecting a $165 million salary cap for 2026-27 -- $1M lower than previous outlooks due to a reduction in local media revenue, sources tell ESPN. Minimum salary $149M, tax level $201M, first apron $209M, second apron $222M also $1M lower each.

Ever wonder what life would be like if you didn’t know anything about crypto/markets/etc? Took my kids to the park this morning and I don’t think a single other parent there knew the price of bitcoin or that oil spiked 3% overnight or dollar debasement or the yen carry trade or any of the million other things we’re constantly checking/monitoring. Feels like a blissful ignorance might be a peaceful (even if a bit boring) existence? Idk. Not really sure how you ever go to that once you’ve seen this side of things, but it feels like maybe ppl on that side are pretty satisfied with their lives
