The day the Affordable Care Act passed was one of my proudest moments as president, because it meant that millions of Americans would have access to health care, some for the first time. The ACA also prevented insurance companies from denying people with pre-existing conditions coverage, allowed young people under the age of 26 to remain on their parents’ plan, expanded Medicaid, and so much more. But the ACA was always meant to be a first step. We still have to do more to expand access and make health care more affordable for everyone.

I’m endlessly fascinated that Democrats get power, even supermajorities, and somehow nothing happens. Meanwhile Republicans win the smallest sliver of power and immediately move mountains. One party governs like it’s afraid. The other governs like it actually wants power.

We could have... Universal healthcare. A cure for cancer. Affordable housing. Livable wages. Affordable higher education. No homelessness. Green energy everywhere. High-speed trains. More help for small businesses. Our government has always been the reason we don't.

Paramount has revealed new details about their merger with Warner Bros: • HBO Max & Paramount+ will be combined into one service • 15 films per studio with 45 day theatrical windows for each film • Merged company will have approx $79 billion in debt • $6 billion in cost cutting including consolidating on tech infrastructure, real estate, corporate overheads & more • No plans to sell off/spinoff any of their cable assets — flexibility to put sports like UFC on any cable network • Will continue to licence movies & TV shows to other studios & platforms • AI will be a “tool for artists” but “never a replacement” for storytellers
