Check plant saucers and pots. Water that collects in the bottom of planters is one of the most overlooked mosquito sources. Empty and refresh them often to keep your plants healthy and your yard mosquito bite-free.

Countdown: 9 Days to World Mosquito Day! Think you are mosquito-free? Time for a double check! Standing water = mosquito factory. From your birdbaths to buckets, flower pots to forgotten toys - if water sits for more than a few days, mosquitoes move in FAST.

Fun fact! Only female mosquitoes bite! Female mosquitoes require blood from animals or humans to develop their eggs. Protect yourself from them by wearing an EPA-registered repellent and protective clothing! placermosquito.org

Mosquito eggs aren't one size fits all 🥚🦟 Different groups and even individual species lay eggs that look and behave differently. Nature’s tiny details make a big difference #MosquitoFacts #GLACVCD

If you've been bit by a mosquito before, you know how itchy and irritating they can be. As hard as it might be, try not to itch it as this can lead to an infection if you break the skin!

Wolbachia is common type of bacteria found in over half of all insects. It can be used to reduce numbers of Aedes aegypti. Mosquitoes with Wolbachia are not genetically modified. The use of mosquitoes with Wolbachia is regulated in the United States by the EPA. #mosquitocontrol
