@JenLRossman The behind the scenes here is Sherilyn Fenn hated her role in the original script and asked Lynch to remove it (some of it, like getting attacked by Richard, went to Audrey's mom) and then he wrote this for her instead.

I still think Audrey is in that twilight zone episode where the wife is fictional and I hate that Charlie just said Audrey is standing on the threshold… OK that feels significant, just like them wearing their coat or not, what happens if she puts on the red coat😬

@JenLRossman They wanted to ask David Lynch to play this part, but were worried about talking to him and getting told he didn't want them to do the episode. Lynch's daughter later mentioned he liked it, however.

@JenLRossman Originally the population was 5120 but ABC told them to add a digit to the sign for 51201, since they felt such a small town would be unrelatable. But a later official tie-in book would say it was indeed 5120 and there's a mistake on the sign.
