Evening #AncestryHour !! It has been an age; but it is exciting to be back and I am hoping you may be able to help me decipher my ggf's job in 1919 when he returned from Toronto to Dundee. His profession is the last one (after what I think is farmer). something man? Suggestions?

@Coming2MyCensus It would be a real rags to riches tale but anything is possible! We know v little about him. He was estranged from the family from the 1920s; my father and uncle didn't even know his name before I started doing family research.

@VickiEntreken I know - it's so frustrating. Previous jobs were general dealer & horse dealer. I thought possibly salesman, but there are too many letters. Then I wonder if it is a G? This is the last official record I have found for him. He was back in Canada by 1921 estranged from the family.

An hour ago I was dropping off children’s clothes for Ukrainian refugees. Children who have been ripped from their homes, schools, toys, friends, normality by war. Now I am at home finalising costumes for my boys for World Book Day. The juxtaposition rests heavily with me.
