This is a great example of the policy promoted by @HistoricEngland to restore heritage buildings to homes. The heritage body estimates that between 560,000 & 670,000 homes can be created in England by repairing and repurposing existing historic buildings. That also saves carbon.

2021-2025 - Just to show it can be done, thanks to CHM Developments and Barham Glen Architects, with a wee bit of funding from @GlasgowHeritage, this is an impressive transformation of the ‘B’ listed former Potato and Grain Merchant’s warehouse on Glasgow’s Hunter Street from a vacant and derelict building at risk to sustainable reuse as new homes for rent.

Yesterday at @HistoricEngland's #HeritageAtRisk drop-in session for MPs and peers at the Houses of Parliament. It was great to have so many MPs and peers drop by to discuss plans for sites on this year's register. We're very grateful to @BayoAlaba MP for sponsoring the event.

Great visit to Chester with @catherine_dewar to meet @LGAcomms Chair Cllr Louise Gittins. Many shared priorities between @HistoricEngland & @LGAcomms - housing, growth, pride, neighbourhoods & local reform. Exciting opportunities to work together supporting local authorities.

The best way to protect our buildings is to reuse them, turning them into places of local connection and joy. The sites saved and removed from @HistoricEngland's Heritage at Risk Register this year show how partnership and community action can create positive, sustainable change.
