Gun Debate, #Canada: When @hamiltonpolice told me the #Mafia and #HellsAngels had contracts out on my life, I was given my handgun and ordered to carry 24/7. Under those circumstances - reasonable? But when Glenn De Caire became Chief of #HamOnt police, he pushed for authority to carry 24/7 … without any known threat. And it was granted! And for obvious reasons they kept it real quiet! When I'm in #Florida I carry anywhere I am legally permitted, 24/7 without issue. So here’s the question: Why are police allowed to carry #firearms off-duty for “just in case,” while law-abiding citizens aren’t even trusted to have one at home to defend themselves?
