@realrickbozich @D_Rock_IU As much praise as Dolson / IU get for the Cig hire (deservingly so, obviously) - IMO, they should get just as much grief for the absolute whiff on firing Woodson 1 year too late w/ Dusty waiting. We’d have this exact Michigan roster. Playing in a final 4 in our city. Such a joke

Braylon Mullins vs. Dusty May for the national title Monday night in Mike Woodson's hometown.

@schmoneyballer @brodysheetzESPN Why would they be? Doesn’t change facts

@NBA_NewYork It’s crazy how people in Christ always say that but when you read the bible this certain behavior was never display by Jesus

Jaden Ivey on IG Live: "All I'm preaching is about Jesus Christ and they waived me. They say I'm crazy, I'm psycho…God let these things happen for a reason…When I came into the league all I wanted to do was win championships, get millions of bucks, get that next contract, get all them cars, that's all I wanted–until the Lord showed me. What good is it to gain the world & forfeit your soul? What good is it to not follow the Lord, obey his commandments?…You only get to drive the Ferrari for the time being…when has anyone driven a Ferrari for 10 hours? No one…you only drive it for however long…What good is it gonna do for y'all on Judgment Day if you don't know the Lord Jesus Christ and obey his commandments?…It's not gonna do no good doing your will and trying to win championships…that's where many stumble…That's why you got Steph Curry…he don't know Jesus, and I pray he comes to the truth, that him & his family be saved in Jesus name…All them rings he got…all them rings LeBron got, Michael Jordan got, all them people in the HOF who don't know Jesus Christ, it's not gonna matter on Judgment Day…They gonna try to stop me but I'm not, I'm gonna be speaking the Truth…That's why everybody around me turning their back on me, because of my faith…I didn't get myself waived–I was in the gym today rehabbing…doing my job…doing whatever they said to do…and they kicked me out. And I'm sure every NBA team gonna say the same thing: 'We don't want him, he's too religious for us'…I hope you turn to Jesus Christ…that you can be forgiven of your sin…we've all sinned…there has to be an atonement, there has to be something…God is faithful to do it but…you have to believe…Jesus gives you power over the devil…please turn to Jesus Christ…it's not his will that these players perish in the NBA…they searching for something they not gonna achieve…they got all these goals…they need to be searching what's the next goal I can do for the Lord Jesus Christ…you gotta have faith in Jesus…They gonna cancel me I'm telling you…This word is gonna be preached…He's gonna come like a thief in the night for those who don't believe…nothing good in the world besides following Jesus Christ…Y'all think y'all hidden…He sees the things you're doing at night…the pornography…the fornication…the lying…the physical abuse…the fighting––"
Flight attendant: "I'm sorry to bother you…are you on your mobile?…it interferes with the communication"
Ivey: "May Jesus bless y'all…My god's willing to save the dirtiest of sinners…May you be blessed in Jesus name"

@Firestorm0624 @jasonwhitlock “Yet” insinuates that they now have a direction. Is that direction backwards?
English

@jasonwhitlock He eliminated Purdue pretty early on, but they certainly tried to get him to commit. He seemed to want to play out of state and not be in the fishbowl, but IU was the runner up with him so maybe Crazy Dan just suited him better since IU had no real direction yet.
English

@rwwhite13 @jasonwhitlock Man, choosing UConn over iu is about more than money.
English

@jasonwhitlock UConn dropped a big bag. He was more interested in money. Can’t say I blame him. They offered 4x what IU was offering or else he would have been a Hoosier

It’s day 1 of a new era. Here’s some things I’m interested in looking ahead to the next iteration of this team.
1. Coach Painter has constantly adapted his offense to his personnel over the years. Purdue went from the most post up heavy team to shooting the most 3’s in the country, back to the most post up heavy team in about a 4 year span between 2017-18 to 2020-21. Purdue was one of the lowest PnR usage teams in the entire country during those years, and then came Braden Smith, and they became one of the highest PnR usage teams. How does this team morph to fit its current personnel? Time will tell, but I’m looking forward to seeing which direction the coaching staff goes.
2. Leading up to the season I often talked about how Omer had primarily thrived in high on-ball usage environments. This year he had to adapt to lower on-ball and lower volume shot taking, making it harder for him to get into rhythm. What does his production look like when he gets higher usage with the ball in his hands and higher shot volume?
3. C.J. Cox has shown the ability to explode offensively at times, but has almost always been the 5th option as a starter. How much can his scoring expand when he’s a primary option? Will we see sets similar to what they ran for Carsen to get him volume shooting from 3 and midrange?
4. Jacobsen had an up and down season and Purdue was in natty or bust mode this year, so he didn’t get the chance to work through as many developmental moments in game time this year, but he showed flashes at times. When those minutes expand, can he develop and become yet another elite big man at Purdue?
5. Players have raved about Antione West all year. I was convinced he wouldn’t redshirt this year because of the supreme confidence he has in himself. He has a chance to be an immediate impact player on both ends of the court from game 1 next season. Will the hype come to fruition?
6. Raleigh Burgess has put a ton of work into his body. He looks leaner, stronger, and will inevitably have more endurance than his first year. He seems to fit in the slightly undersized center role that can play the 4 also. With Purdue’s current front court and Pierce coming in, how is he utilized next year?
7. Gicarri became a much more confident shooter this year, was a solid defender, and at times attacked the rim, but had a limited role after starting for a while his freshman year. In year 3 will he move back into a starting role? Will he become someone that can consistently use his strength to get downhill?
8. Jack played backup 4 out of necessity, but his more natural offensive fit seems to be at the 3 in a Sasha or Cline role. With Pierce coming in, does he move to a 3? With less experience in the front court, will he need to back up the 4 spot still? Can his defense improve enough to guard 1-3 on switches?
9. Pierce had a dominant sophomore year in the Ivy League, and then played his junior year hobbled by injury much of the year. He’s got some athleticism and has been a capable shooter from outside, although it hasn’t been the highest percentage. Will he be used like a Vincent Edwards type of 4? To what degree will his game translate in the Big Ten? He was highly sought after from top programs, so it seems clear the belief is that it will translate well.
10. Which of the freshmen will be ready to contribute day 1? Going into the summer of Braden and Fletcher’s first year, few expected them to start day 1, let alone have the immediate impact they did. Few thought Zach would be ready to make an immediate impact as well. Does one or more of Ertel, Webber, Huan, or Knight come in and show the ability for day 1 impact?

@VictoryGallop1 @matthewwinick Opposite UConn & Illinois*
Italiano

@matthewwinick Of course they both on same side of bracket opposite of Duke.

Sure enough, the KenPom Thrill Score is 92.8. Highest ever.
The No. 3 vs. No. 4 KenPom teams of all-time.
Arizona/Michigan should be presented as the game of a generation. Will it live up to the hype?
(Funny enough, Michigan passed Zona in KenPom with today's win)
Matthew Winick@matthewwinick
As of right now, Illinois/Michigan in late Feb is the highest pregame KenPom Thrill Score of all-time (since 2011). Michigan/Arizona will almost certainly shatter that record by a substantial margin, and possibly may take years to be surpassed.

@kirkdonkadonk @JonRothstein Foul baiters lol, they don’t ever shoot FTs haha. Dude you should watch basketball, it’s a good sport
English

@JonRothstein Nah fuck em. They don’t play real basketball. Stain on th sport hope they never play in the pros. NBA is already broken enough by foul baiting shits like them.
English

@damngreenboard @BTFU2000 No he pushed off after this. He did push but when you’re being held and there’s not whistle what should you do? Stand there in a straitjacket?
English

@GuiltC_1 @TNTSportsUS Clearly those odds didn’t recognize that we’d have 4 all time elite teams
English

@TNTSportsUS Congrats matt, you were 12/1 to tip off the season and embarrassed yourself throughout
English

@PUBoilingPoints I’m all for holding ppl accountable but let’s be real about the guys that played the most minutes and what their limitations are defensively
English

@PUBoilingPoints Paul Lusk is the definition of a bum.
English

@John_Fanta John, you’re the best man. Got some good stuff here.
English

@bugsBunny3_5 @RaphealDavis3 Individually yes. But collectively they’re a top 20 unit over the last 3 weeks.
That’s also not what RD is claiming. He’s pointing out that Purdue's offense has an advantage
English

Best big man on the floor.
Best point guard on the floor.
Best shooter on the floor.
CBS Sports College Basketball 🏀@CBSSportsCBB
“I looked everywhere, I can’t find any component of the game where Purdue is better than Arizona in this matchup.” @itsbjtaylor says Purdue has NO advantage over Arizona 😳
English

@PurdueBballGuy He also took a vicious elbow straight to the dome and barely took a play off. He’s elite in his role. Clutch FTs down the stretch.
English

I want to shout out CJ cox. Playing on a team that starts 4 seniors…he is underclassmen who always steps up, always hit the big shot, and always is calm cool and collected. His value is commonly overlooked on this team of stars. And last night he played 30+ minutes on a bad knee, and we would not have won that game without him. Thank you CJ. Purdue owes you and I cannot wait to see your stardom grow next season and the following season once you are THE GUY!
