@Dawn99028990220 @networkrail Hi there, it's the local authority who makes the decision on listed building consent applications and in some cases, they may come to us for advice. We are looking into what involvement we may have had and will update you as soon as we can.

@HistoricEngland @networkrail Just checking if you are talking to Network Rail about Chapel Firth Viaduct. They say they need your input before installing Swift boxes to replace nesting sites they blocked. Please hurry otherwise it will be too late

@HistoricEngland are you responsible for refusing to allow @networkrail to open closed swift nesting sites at Chapel Milton viaduct? Swifts are due to arrive any day, they can't wait for your bureaucratic processes.

Went out to look at Highmoor farm yesterday, an abandoned dairy farm once endowed to Clitheroe Grammar School, it will soon be swallowed up by yet another housing estate, we don’t realise how much of our history we are losing #Clitheroe #Ribblevalley #History

@OldStationSt @HistoricEngland Has a culture secretary overturned a decision from Historic England before? I have many issues with the city. But when it shows some ambition and is blocked like this, I just sigh.

Great news! Norwich Sports Village in Norfolk has been listed at Grade II. 🙌 It is the only example in Britain of work by celebrated Swiss engineer Heinz Isler and one of only three shell structures built in England since the 1970s.

Great news! Moot Hill in Wymondham, Norfolk, has been saved by @NorfArchTrust with our support and advice. 👏 A long-term project will conserve the scheduled ancient monument, which is currently closed to the public, so it can be explored and enjoyed safely.

Alfriston Clergy House in East Sussex was the first building acquired by the @nationaltrust, founded #OnThisDay in 1895. This photograph shows the 14th-century building before it was restored in 1898. The building is a rare surviving example of a Wealden hall house.

The Harrow Inn in Steep, East Hampshire, dates to around the 18th century or possibly earlier. 🍻 It's well-located at the meeting of 6 roads, including 2 known routes for cattle drovers headed for Alton or the Farnham Corn Market.

The unique mid-16th century manor house at Crow’s Hall, Stowmarket, is surrounded by a moat and entered by a brick bridge and a gatehouse. 😍 Unlike many other country estates, it hasn't been formally designed and is an unusual survival of a small, early country house landscape.

The hypocaust at Brading Roman Villa on the Isle of Wight is at risk. This is a rare surviving example of Roman heating. Protecting the hypocaust is an Edwardian shelter in need of repair to ensure the site remains safe. In 2025, we added it to our #HeritageatRisk register.

We’re working with Pre-Construct Archaeology, @NorfolkMuseums and @NtlMuseumsScot to conserve Iron Age objects discovered in West Norfolk, including a battle trumpet and a boar’s head from a military standard. See the discovery on @BBCTwo's 'Digging for Britain' on 14 January.

Liverpool Lawn in Ramsgate, Kent, was planned as a gently curving crescent to exploit sea views from its site, which is set back from the seafront. 🌊 This speculative development was constructed between 1827 and 1836 by the Ramsgate builder James Crisford.
