Many people ask me about the story of Parashurama. Here it is. My father, Air Commodore MK Chandrasekhar was a proud air warrior who dedicated his life to protecting our skies. He was a master of the iconic Douglas DC-3 Dakota, an aircraft deeply tied to our nation’s history and my childhood 🇮🇳 To honour his legacy and our aviation history, I spent 5 years on a mission to rescue and restore a neglected Dakota from Ireland for the @IAF_MCC. ✈️ Despite years of setbacks, the journey was worth it the moment I saw my father, then 80+, in that Dakota once again. Today, it stands proudly in #IAF colours as part of our vintage fleet, bearing the tail number VP-905. It is named #Parashurama, after the eternal warrior sage and sixth avatar of Vishnu. The story of Parashurama is a powerful reminder that if there is a will and decisive leadership, anything is possible. Patriotism is not just about words. It is about honouring the Indians who protected our country and preserving the military traditions that shaped those brave men.
