Day 21 of the QPMV Advent Calendar celebrates @CityWestminster brand new community hubs, which are popping up across the city to support local communities to connect and thrive. In our constituency, I loved attending the opening of The Exchange on Elgin Avenue, run by the amazing team at @NPFoodbank ; and the Lilestone Street Hub in Church Street, which launched this month and is already hosting activities with @London_Tigers, @lovepaddington and Mosaic. Early in the new year, they'll be joined by a third Hub on the Brunel Estate, run by local heroes Happy Lizzy and Shane from @HLEPout These hubs are creating welcoming spaces for arts workshop, community meals, advice sessions, film clubs and much more and through it all strengthen local communities. A huge shout out also to Fran and the team at Flourish for making the spaces look so beautiful!

For all those who knew him, Barrie Taylor died peacefully this morning after a long illness. Father to 3 beloved children and 3 equally beloved grandchildren, Westminster councillor, alderman, a dedicated public servant with a lifetime of service in the NHS. Loved and missed.

It was inspirational to see Queens Park community groups and residents come together to make this building functional within weeks. Also great to see how council staff helped out with making the building safe and operational and that red tape didn’t stop this from happening

Amazing to be able to open the new Happy Hub on Third Avenue-an amazing grassroots effort to create meanwhile community space in a council building-home to lots of fun activities over the next 8 months. So many helped but its got local superstars Liz and Shane at its heart
