This helmet is a beautiful tribute the athletes of Ukraine. Why would the IOC ban it? It is not a political protest. At the same time, the IOC shamefully allows Russian athletes to compete who they know are not neutral, who have been involved in or who support Russia’s illegal invasion and occupation of Ukraine which has led to the senseless deaths of thousands of Ukrainians including athletes. Do the right thing for once.

Remembrance of fallen 🇺🇦 athletes is not a violation. The helmet shows faces, not slogans — a human tribute to #Ukrainian sportsmen killed in Russia’s war, one that should be respected, not silenced or banned. The #IOC’s decision to ban this tribute is a despicable move, unworthy to uphold the spirit of sport. Standing in full solidarity with 🇺🇦 skeleton racer Vladyslav Heraskevych and the people of #Ukraine.

“Remembrance is not a violation”. The helmet of @heraskevych depicts several athletes killed by russian terrorists. They will never again be able to play sports, dream, enjoy life, or celebrate their achievements. Remember this @iocmedia and don’t try to downgrade it with your black band solution… shame on you.

Russia claims it used an intermediate range ballistic missile, so-called “Oreshnik”, against Lviv region. Such a strike close to EU and NATO border is a grave threat to the security on the European continent and a test for the transatlantic community. We demand strong responses to Russia’s reckless actions. We are informing the United States, European partners, and all countries and international organizations about the details of this dangerous strike through diplomatic channels. It is absurd that Russia attempts to justify this strike with the fake “Putin residence attack” that never happened. Another proof that Moscow does not need any real reasons for its terror and war. Putin uses an IRBM near EU and NATO border in response to his own hallucinations — this is truly a global threat. And it demands global responses. There needs to be more strong steps against Russian tanker fleet—and the U.S. is right to take action here—as well as Russia’s oil revenues, schemes, and its assets. Not only in the EU but across the world. We urge all responsible states and international organizations to call out Russian lies and increase pressure on the aggressor without delay. We will be initiating international action — an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council, a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council, as well as responses within the EU, Council of Europe, and OSCE.

Four civilians were killed, including a medic, and over two dozen injured in Kyiv after a horrible night of Russian strikes. Residential areas, critical infrastructure, power, heating, and water supply were all under brutal attack by cruise and ballistic missiles and drones. Lviv and Kyiv this morning, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kryvyi Rih, and other regions earlier this week — the aggressor demonstrates utter disregard for peace efforts. Russia bets on war, terror, and barbarism instead of diplomacy. But if war criminal Putin thinks he can bomb Ukrainians into accepting his ultimatums, he is getting it wrong. Such attacks only make our people more united and resolute to resist aggression and terror. We are informing our partners about the consequences of overnight strikes. We urge strong responses. Public condemnation — especially from those who recently responded with concerns to the fake “Putin residence attack”. We urge our partners to take immediate action to increase pressure on Moscow. New rounds of tough sanctions to deprive Russia of resources for terror and war. New packages of defense assistance for Ukraine to better protect our people and push back the invaders. New steps to ensure accountability for Russian crimes. Russia’s terror and brutality must be met with unity, strength, and justice.
