Linear launched with dark mode as the default. Subtle thing. Most people think it's aesthetic.
But rather in reality, It's a signal.
It says "we are developers, building for developers." Before you read a word of copy, the design already told you who this is for.
Steve Jobs called this "impute", people judge your product by how it looks before they judge what it does. First impressions are foundational.

For years, users begged Linear for custom fields. Time tracking. More dashboard options.
They said no. Repeatedly.
And people called them stubborn. Arrogant even.
But here's what was actually happening they were protecting the product from becoming the thing they were built to replace.
Every feature you add makes the next "no" harder. Linear never stopped saying no. That's why it still feels like Linear.
English

Look at their homepage. 17 words tells you everything.
"The product development system for teams and agents. Purpose-built for planning and building products. Designed for the AI era..”
Now look at any competitor. It takes them a paragraph to say something half as clear.
Clarity is a thinking skill. If you can't explain it simply, you haven't decided what it is yet.
English

The pages that actually pass the 5-second test all share something.
They don't describe the product. They describe what life feels like AFTER using it.
Steve Jobs never said "5GB of flash storage."
He said "1,000 songs in your pocket."
Same product. One talks to engineers. The other talks to humans.

This one's subtle but it kills conversions quietly.
You're asking me to hand over my email and the only proof that your product works is... your own opinion of your product.
Put one real testimonial above the button. Not "Love it!" — something specific.
"Cut our onboarding time from 3 weeks to 2 days."
That does more work than your entire features section.
English

The biggest crime I keep seeing: headlines that sound like a product spec sheet.
"AI-Powered Collaborative Workflow Automation Platform"
Bro. Nobody opened their laptop today hoping to find one of those.
They opened it because they're drowning in meetings and want their afternoon back.
Say THAT.

@vec0zy @alexroyhe It literally says from Basit a khan. He didn’t steal anything.
