The Defence Secretary @JohnHealey_MP visited @HMNBPortsmouth yesterday to hear from a variety of @RoyalNavy personnel about their experiences and contributions to operations around the world. He also got to thank the crew of @HMSDiamond which recently returned from the Red Sea.

Shine bright like a Diamond… @hmsdiamond returned home to Portsmouth for an emotional reunion with loved ones after an historic deployment that saw her shoot down nine drones and a ballistic missiles in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

Shine on you 'mazing Diamond 💎 Welcome home the men and women of @hmsdiamond after 7 months away successfully protecting shipping from Houthi drone/missile attacks in the Red Sea. She's due past Portsmouth's Round Tower around 1pm tomorrow, so please show your support.👏

Our highly trained, dedicated, and professional sailors are the lifeblood of HMS DIAMOND 💎. A massive congratulations to all those recognised today (1 x NATO MSM, 1 x OSM, 1 x LSGC, and 5 x Dept Sailor of the Deployments).🥇

Diamond's 💎 Marine Engineering department is the backbone of our ship. Providing propulsion, power generation, and habitability, Marine Engineers maintain powerful engines and complex marine systems. Interested? @RoyalNavy

Diamond's 💎 Flight team provide anti-surface and submarine warfare, reconnaissance, medical evacuations, and transport operations. This team of highly skilled aircrew and engineers use the Wildcat helicopter to support DIAMOND on operations. Interested? @Royal Navy

Behind every great warship is an even greater Logistics Department. Diamond's 💎 Logs team support all we do: catering, stores, medical, replenishment at sea, counter chemical warfare, and HR services, all thousands of miles from home. Interested? @RoyalNavy

DIAMOND's 💎 Ships Company had the opportunity to conduct a variety of Adventurous Training activities whilst visting Cagliari, Sardinia and Palma, Majorca recently. Great time had by all, and our sincere thanks to all those who made it happen. @NAVYfit @RoyalNavy

DIAMOND's 💎 Weapon Engineering Dept maintains and provides the Ship’s Communications, Sensors, and Weapons. Behind every radio conversation, radar transmission, and weapon firing is a highly skilled RN Weapon Engineer. Interested? @RoyalNavy

DIAMOND 💎 is immensely proud of our sailors who were recognised in His Majesty the King's Birthday Honours List 2024. Congratulations to POET ME Alan Butler, PO CT Jamie Harrison, and LET WE Lee Dailly for being awarded Royal Navy Commendations.

🚢@HMSDiamond is in the Red Sea, where she continues to protect the freedom of passage to merchant shipping, and protecting them against Houthi Rebel attacks. The @RoyalNavy crew continue to train routinely, to ensure the operational effectiveness of themselves and the ship.💪🌊

£15m of drugs seized by @hmsdiamond in the Indian Ocean... The destroyer's #RoyalMarines boarding team from @42_commando pounced on a suspect dhow to stop and search the vessel in the Gulf of Aden – 2.4 tonnes of illicit narcotics have now been destroyed. Read more⬇️

Close working relationships with coalition partners is vital. In an example of how close, 💎 recently conducted a ‘double RAS’ with USNS KANAWHA 🇺🇸 (50m apart) to simultanous embark stores and fuel by Replenishment At Sea.

.@HMSDiamond has made history in the Red Sea 🇬🇧 Most targets shot down in a day ever by a Royal Navy ship. 🇬🇧 First to shoot down a missile since 1991. 🇬🇧 First to fire in anger for over 30 years. Proving the @RoyalNavy’s strength & formidability against threats to the UK.
