A Heat Advisory is in effect for heat indices in the mid to upper 90s for areas south of Lake Ontario, Lower Genesee Valley, and Finger Lakes region. A few strong thunderstorms may enter far western NY tonight, mainly after midnight.

There is a Beach Hazards Statement in effect from 11PM Tonight to 11AM Monday for the beaches of Wayne, northern Cayuga, and Oswego counites. Stay out of the water to avoid dangerous swimming conditions.

After spending much of the months of May & June running well below average, Lake Ontario is in the midst of an impressive turnaround. Average water temps today are now near peak warmth based on 30-year data (1995-2025). Lake Erie is doing the same. Climatologically, Lake Ontario tends to peak somewhere in the month of August.

Spectacular weather on tap for Independence Day. Temperatures will be mainly in the 60s around the start time of any fireworks displays this evening. While the region will stay mostly dry through the rest of the holiday weekend, heat and humidity will build, especially by Sunday.

HMW crews are assisting Brockport at a structure fire on Roman Circle. Holley, Churchville, and Hilton are there too. HMW Engine 244 is fill in at Brockport Station 1.
