It’s a myth that heat pumps don’t work in old or listed homes. Modern high-temperature systems from Daikin, Mitsubishi and Vaillant are already running in heritage buildings across the UK — without ripping out windows or spoiling their character. 🏛️ Examples: • Historic England: Working systems in Georgian terraces & Grade II cottages 🔗 historicengland.org.uk • Kingston Lacy (National Trust): 18th-century estate now heated by a ground-source heat pump 🔗 viessmann.co.uk • 17th-century listed timber-framed home (Buckinghamshire): 🔗 custom-renewables.com • Centre for Sustainable Energy: Practical advice for listed homes 🔗 cse.org.uk Efficiency isn’t the barrier — misinformation is. #HeatPumps #NetZero #EnergyEfficiency #HeritageBuildings #CleanEnergy

Big news for the heat pump sector! Last week, members of the Heat Pump Association, Ground Source Heat Pump Association, and Heat Pump Federation voted to merge into a single, unified Heat Pump Trade Body, which will truly represent the complete heat pump supply chain.

The HETS research shows that 94% of homeowners with a heat pump are either “satisfied” (44%) or “extremely satisfied” (50%). Compared to a total of 85% satisfaction for the most common heating system in the UK, the mains gas boiler. electrifyresearch.co.uk/blog/heat-pump…

Another side to the Smart Meter revolution is to ensure that all tenants can benefit from the massive benefits that flexible generation & use of electricity can deliver. Landlords should be encouraged to empower their tenants to engage with energy efficiency in every possible way

@jessralston2 It's a problem that needs urgent and creative thinking! "We've always done it this way." is part of the problem with orthodox public sector funding. Time for a new plan

Without a replacement, the public sector may struggle to invest in its buildings Will GB Energy fill the gap? Might be competition for cash with it covering renewables, nuclear etc too
