The Himachal Pradesh Centre for Disaster Preparedness and Resilience (HPCDPR) at Haroli was formally inaugurated by Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri on 17th March 2026.

Amidst intense competition, ,HP SDRF secured the top position in the final standings,while Uttar Pradesh, secured 2nd place and ,Andhra Pradeshfinished 3rd.

A total of 7 SDRF teams from across the country, shortlisted through the Regional CSSR Competitions, participated in the national finals. demonstrating exceptional capabilities in Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue operations, teamwork, and operational readiness.@arjit_sen

The first victim was located at 10:00 AM and airlifted to Chaurasi Temple helipad. The second victim was located at 1:35 PM and airlifted safely. The search & recovery operation was successfully closed at 1:47 PM.

The Heli Team (05 SDRF personnel + local guides) was airdropped near the suspected location on the Chutadiya side peak. The Ground Team advanced on foot through snow-covered terrain, extreme cold, and high avalanche risk. At 9:30 AM, tents were spotted.

SEARCH & RECOVERY OPERATION | SDRF Late night on 24.01.2026, information was received from DDMA Chamba regarding two missing trekkers near Bharmani Mata Temple, Bharmour. An SDRF team was mobilized at 12:27 AM the same night. @HPSDMA @ndmaindia @IAF_MCC @arjit_sen

As HP SDRF marks six years of commitment, courage, and compassion, the conference reaffirmed its resolve to integrate research with policy and ground-level response to safeguard lives and strengthen disaster governance in the state.

The valedictory session, chaired by Sh. Anirudh Singh Rana, Hon’ble Minister (Panchayati Raj & Rural Development), highlighted inter-agency coordination, community participation through PRIs, and innovation in disaster-resilient construction.

On the occasion of the 6th Raising Day of the State Disaster Response Force, Himachal Pradesh, a Regional Conference on “Bridging Research and Response: Strengthening Disaster Governance and Community Resilience in the Himalayan Region” was organized at Hotel Peterhoff, Shimla.
