@Pete___Hughes If Stenberg didn't have the season long hype I'd agree. He's developed too much traction across the entire season for a team to overlook him.
I'd say Mckenna, Stenberg, Malhotra in that order unless a team desperate for centres wins.

Caleb Maholtra is going 2nd. There is no way an NHL Team is choosing a 6’0” Winger who isn’t a burner, over Steve Nash’s Nephew who has 1C upside. I just can’t see it anymore at all. You build down the middle. Remember when Barkov was supposed to go 4-5, because I do.

Makes me sick that up-and-coming teams like the Ducks, Flyers, and Habs were instantly rewarded with joke matchups against washed-up husks of teams while the Leafs' young core were essentially condemned to a seven-year gauntlet of cup finalists right off the bat every damn year

#Flames fans are naturally frustrated but it's tough to say they should've done much more (than trade Coleman):
- the kids have taken over games
- Cooley is top-10 in sv% and has to be top 5 in some GSAA models I would imagine
- traded some big name vets for solid deals

@HProductionsYYC They are historically bad on the road, they are 2-28-1 when trailing after 2 they were down but just 1 at some point in 19 of 29 loses
They are also better vs playoff teams then non playoff teams
5-14 vs non playoff teams on the road

@Veer976 Yea I'm not quite labelling this a disaster just yet because I don't know what other teams prioritize. They could easily finish 4th last or 8th last and still get their player.
Finishing bottom 2 was going to be a tough job regardless.

@HProductionsYYC Funny thing is they’re probably worse right now if they didn’t trade Kadri or weegar, but they still needed to move those guys for assets and get younger, whatever happens it’ll probably be for the good

@Scottos_ Feels like a weird mix of teams taking them too lightly, goalies playing well, and the team not taking any nights off.
Great for a competitive team but inconvenient if trying to reset for even a year or two.

@miketgould @jordanjamesi @CofRedCentral I'm not in panic mode like most of flames twitter so far but it's far more likely to beat a b2b resting Avs team and resting kings team on home ice (where they've lost maybe once in regulation last 10?) than it is to lose both.
I'd say they're heading for 6th overall easily.

It’s so disappointing. Most of the season this team flirted with the bottom of the standings. This could be their only chance to get that high.
But as others have said, this is what they do. They can’t help but be mediocre.
