@markwgilson @WMPublicSchools @markwgilson Thank you for compiling this thread. You can see that this is a challenge that all districts are facing and that each of us are trying to figure out the best way forward and where we can make the most impact outside of the classrooms for our districts.

Watertown-Mayer (@WMPublicSchools), April 15th. "So when you go into a meeting and meet with your legislators and you say, you know, we really need more funding formula — you know, five and five would be fantastic — that's pretty much immediately off the table. I'm not going to get those because everybody's asking for that. So, you know, my approach — and the handouts you guys have in front of you, they were provided to all the legislators — my approach was: what can we do at the local level? How can we reduce those mandates — unfunded mandates — and put more local control? That's the stuff that they can try to fix, that they can try to push forward."

Shakopee (@ShakopeeSchools), April 15th. "Right now we're kind of looking at one to four million in 2028, just in rough numbers. The seven to nine million, looking at what the legislature's currently doing. You know, we've got the 2.73% because of the inflation floor for fiscal year 2026. For fiscal year 2027, I'm not hearing much. I think they're going to leave the inflation in place for fiscal 2027. I'm kind of looking at Jim and Bill. So we're thinking that might be two and a half percent. And then they're looking at other pieces in there and a number of budget cut items on the table."
