Syria has intercepted a shipment of advanced weapons and missiles along its border with Iraq, intended for Hezbollah in Lebanon. Syria's Interior Ministry confirmed that specialised units seized the shipment, in a sharp break from the Assad era when Syria served as a key transit corridor for weapons flowing to Hezbollah. The weapons were almost certainly intended for use against Israel in Hezbollah's ongoing conflict with Tel Aviv. However, because of Hezbollah's involvement in the Syrian civil war on the side of Bashar al-Assad, Syria's new government has repeatedly signalled its intention to cut off the Lebanese group's supply routes.

Meanwhile, Erdogan continues to transport cheap Baku oil to his business partner Netanyahu.
