Arabs are ethnically Semitic, Somalis are Cushitic. The history of trading, intermarriage, religion, and geographical proximity might have brought us closer over the centuries. We are not Arabs, and if you have ever associated with Somali people, you will quickly learn that they are the proudest people in the world about their Somali heritage. There is plenty of evidence from archaeology and DNA research to show that the genetic marker (E-Y18629) of the Somali people dates back 7000-10000 years.
