The Chief of General Staff of the Burkina Faso Armed Forces, Brig Gen Célestin SIMPORE with his delegation were received today at RDF Headquarters by Hon Minister of Defence, J Marizamunda and CDS RDF, Lt Gen MK Mubarakh. They discussed ways of strengthening defence cooperation.

Today, the Rwandan bilateral contingent deployed in Central African Republic in collaboration with the Bangui City and local population, carried out community work in Bangui.

Rwanda has often been used as a political card and a scapegoat for the political instability in the DRC. Being anti-Rwanda is considered a sign of patriotism. It's common for someone you dislike or disagree with to be immediately labeled as a Rwandan or associated with Rwanda. ⚫️In September 2007, Chief rebel group William Amuri Yakutumba, known as Mai Mai Yakutumba, and his political deputy, Raphael Looba Undji, visited Kinshasa at the invitation of then-President Joseph Kabila. They spent approximately six months in the city, establishing political contacts. Four years later, Mai Mai Yakutumba changed his stance and began to criticize President Kabila, accusing him of being an agent of Rwanda. ⚫️Around late 2020 to early 2021, Congolese President Félix Tshisekedi organized secret negotiations with the M23 rebels. A rebel delegation came to Kinshasa and stayed in a government-funded hotel for ten months. ⚫️The M23 delegation was led by Lawrence Kanyuka (same tribu as President Tshisekedi), the M23's political adviser and spokesman, and Bosco Mberabagabo, also known as Castro, who was responsible for security and intelligence. During closed-door sessions, Congolese officials acknowledged that the M23 members were Congolese nationals and assured them that their issues would be addressed. ⚫️Tshisekedi has shown inconsistency in resolving the crisis in eastern DRC. After abandoning the option of integrating the M23 into the national army, he began referring to them as Rwandans. ⚫️Recently, Congolese Minister of media and spokesperson @PatrickMuyaya stated that Moise Katumbi pretends to be a presidential candidate, yet he fails to acknowledge Rwanda as an aggressor.
